I bet you are one of those guys who runs with Windows special effects disabled as well
I do. After a new Windows installation I open up system and click on "adjust for best performance", now I have a 24 gig system core i7, 6.5 terabytes of storage and a reasonable video card, lag and stutter is not what I'm concerned about... But that is my use case.

iOS 9.2 Public Beta 2 fixes the app switcher lag on my 6 Plus but the Spotlight lag is still there.. At least they're fixing the lag..

Edit: Siri lag imminent..

You do know iPhone 6 and iPad Air 2 came out of the box with at least iOS 8.0, right? I mean you'd totally know that if you actually owned any of the products.
I was not going to reply to this but then I decided too after seeing this in my notifications. I did in fact owned both of those devices. I now own an iPad Pro and an iPhone 6S. iOS 7 ran terrible on my iPhone 5S right out of the box. All I was saying is that my iPhone 6 and my iPad Air 2 ran great and it was better than 7. Don't be so quick to accuse.

The iPad Pros in store suffer from the same stutters, frame drops and lags as my Air 2 does. This is not hardware. This is poor software; it can even bog down an A9X for crying out loud!

The Pro is actually worse in some regards; e.g. pulling down the multitasking slidey menu thing. Lags like crazy on the Pro (input lag not frame drops). I'm sure it'll be sorted with updates but yeah, iOS is a mess right now.

I was in the Apple and played around with one for a while and didn't "notice" any thing abnormal. So I wouldn't say it's a mess and I predict the same types of threads in the iPad section. "It is", "it isn't ", "it is but you don't notice it".

I have been reading your comments for a while now and it is clear too me that you would dispute the difference between silk and sandpaper.

iOS 9 is laggy, stop pretending it's not.

Just returned from the Apple Store after trying out iPad Pro for 20 minutes or so.The experience is HANDS down better than my Air 2.App Switcher is flawless like my Air 2 was on 8.4.1.But the Spotlight lag and stutter is still there.
And someone else experienced essentially all the same stutters. So who and what is right?

One lag that I get, or stutter, whatever you wanna call it, is when I exit an app, and swipe left or right on the apps screen and it stutters a bit. Pretty annoying.

The problem with this whole thing if you think I'm pretending than others are seeing things that don't exist and I'm not saying there is a bar of 100% perfection in every nook and cranny of iOS.

So you admit it lags for you

My Air 2 on 9.2 b3 runs the App Switcher as smoothly as the Pro, no issues here.

Are you still on 9.1? On 9.2 Spotlight "stutters" the first time you activate it (probably due to the keyboard not being held in memory and being loaded) but after then it's fine.

iOS 9's "issues" are down to software optimisation (or lack there of) but it is almost there, 9.2 has been fantastic thus far.

Made some videos of horiffic performance of iOS 9 in the Youtube app, compared to a 100€ Android phone.

Here is iPhone 5S running 9.0.2, the video is 30fps, but as you'll see it doesn't even need to be in 60fps (no, it's not in slow motion):

Now here is the same action under with Sony E4G under Android 4.4:

I posted the video to the iAppleBytes channel owner and asked him if he can follow up with the same test under iPhone 5S with iOS8, 9.2 beta 4 and iPhone 5. But I'm sure the iOS 8 will trump the iOS 9.

Anything else ?

As much as i'm annoyed by the Mini 2 animation performance, this looks more like a Google problem than anything else. They have a history of ignoring iOS standards for the sake of a unified look with Android. This should definitely be fixed.

We'll see if we get a video with iOS 8. But based on performance in other areas under iOS 9 I wouldn't hold my breath it's the apps fault.
