I'm due for an upgrade and am torn about which way to go. I switched from an older LG Lucid to an iPhone 4 after only ever having android. I instantly formed a love/hate relationship with iphone, and it engendered much stronger reactions, both pro and con, than any android ever did. I love the way things look and feel, love how I can increase the text size to really HUGE without having to install third party apps (only Samsung phones seem to go as big as I want), allowing me to read messages without my glasses, and love how things sync nicely with my lovely Mac (no complaints with that device), and like how everything works like it's supposed to instead of the glitchy malfunctioning Lucid I was coming from, love that it seems aimed at a non-techie person like myself who doesn't know what the words "root", "jailbreak", "RAM" and "widget" mean, like that I'm using the same brand phone that almost everyone I know is using, including my daughter and my GF, which makes troubleshooting for both me and them easier, and like a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment.

But I hate that the phone makes an outgoing sound when a text is sent, hate that I have to press "edit" in the alarm app before changing the alarm clock time instead of just touching the time itself, hate the lack of back button, hate that I can't easily control vibrate and ring options and/or turn the phone completely silent without some work, and hate that I can't see the weather/temperature on my home screen, and hate that most things generally take more steps to accomplish than on Android, and surely hate a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment.

And the thing I've come to hate most of all is the lack of a feature I've never actually had: a notification light. After recently learning that phones have these (I paid no attention to cell phones or technology for the last few years), I realized how badly I wanted one. I've often not realized a message has come in while I'm in the other room, and even more often I'm obsessively picking up and turning on my phone to see if any messages have come in that I missed. A notification light would be a huge game-changer for the better, and is the chief reason I may forgo the tempting 6 and go back to Android, probably the G2 (anything bigger I can't abide).

So that's my two cents on all this. I welcome any comments on anything I've said.

I think something like All In One Gestures and any swipe gesture apps might still be a bit foreign to Android users. It's like blind iSheep fans who don't really NEED wireless charging. How could they miss or need it if they never experienced it in the first place? How come you can have a conclusion that you never even tried before? It is like trying to describe color to a person who was born blind.

I would love these features to be standard to all smartphone users -

VOCC fast charging that is found on Oppo Find 7a. If we don't get lithium sulphur batteries just yet, at least fasten the charge times under 1 hr and increase capacity on the LiPo and Li-ions.

Wireless charging option

Double tap wake screen feature thanks to LG. Basically more swipe gestures to turn off and on screen for less wearing out physical buttons.

Dual front STEREO speakers thanks to HTC. It doesn't need grills as seen with the Sony Xperia Z2 and its successors.

Some element-resistance.

IR blaster
I'm pretty sure some devs on XDA figured out how to manipulate kernels to accept DT2W before LG had it. In fact, I think LG stole the idea from XDA.

And if the iPhone keeps getting thinner, doubt there will be room for wireless charging or boom sound type speakers.

Battery tech should have triple the mAh rating and 10x the charge rate within the next 5 years. That is a tech I see all phones using.
