Hi @Aleksid1 - you don't need to do that just for this, simply look at /Library/Displays and see if you have any override files there under any of the subfolders for your display. For example:

Note, that to have 1280x720 as HiDPI option, you don't need any override files, since that is available by default in newer Monterey and Ventura versions.

OK, I'll check up on Monday.

I remember exactly that with Big Sur and with the first release of Monterey 12.0 there were no HiDPI options for my QuadHD monitor. I used dummy 4K HDMI emulator and then BetterDummy utility to add any HiDPI options.

I prefer 1280 x 720 HiDPI (which is 2560 x 1440) with QuadHD monitor. It gives large fonts, but picture and fonts are very crisp.

@Aleksid1, yes, the possibility to create additional scaled HiDPI resolutions on Apple Silicon came with Monterey 12.4. If you use 1280x720 HiDPI, that is available by default on Monterey 12.4+ and Ventura as all resolution options now have a half-sized HiDPI variant by default. So on a QHD display you'll get 1280x720 HiDPI without the need for any third party app or tweak.

I just checked with my Mac Mini M1.

macOS Monterey 12.5.1 natively supports HiDPI 1280 x 720 (256 x 1440) for my QuadHD monitor Dell P2421H. Also I can easily turn on additional scaled HiDPI resolutions with larger fonts.

Honestly, I think that it's enough for QuadHD monitor, because 2X resolution gives the best sharpness and details on QuadHD monitor. When I earlier tried other scaled HiDPI resolutions on this QuadHD monitor (using BetterDummy utility) the picture looked blurry.

I guess it's the same with macOS Ventura.

Yes. If you are happy with a 1280x720 resolution, you don't need any extra tool.

I myself would not be happy with that screen real estate and I personally do not think that scaled resolutions other than 1:1 pixel mapping look bad on macOS and work just fine if you are not a pixel artist or graphics designer who absolutely needs that. For 1:1 pixel mapping to work with proper GUI sizes, you basically have no choice but just buy an Apple display as there are simply no or very limited number of third party options with 200+ PPI out there. But anyway, these are really matters of personal preference. :)

It Really works ok, text en images are way better
but on reboot I get these 'glitches' when moving te mouse over ???

Would it be fixed with using this thing

Then yo need the pro version , I guess
For native smooth scaling, yes - this makes the screen scalable in a flexible way with the resolution slider in the app menu. But if you don't want that, you can add your custom (HiDPI) resolutions for free! I see you ticked in the `Add custom scaled resolutions` option, now what you need to do is to enter the desired resolution and click (+) there.

Still can 't use 'the scaling option'

Hi @VenimK - you'd need to mirror the dummy to the real screen to make it work. But dummy mirroring is an outdated method, it's best to use native smooth scaling (paid feature) or create custom HiDPI resolutions (free feature) with the app.
