Created a new user and tested the Screenshot flickering....same thing.
Same choppiness on switching Desktops as well.

I'm not familiar with fast swipe (and am not in front of my Mac atm). is it an option in Settings?
Not an option in settings. I just checked Hyperdock and TinkerTool and cant find any options for that in those apps either.
I also see the same flickering on my 2010 15" MBP.
Although it's not the end of the world for me I hope they will fix it rather soon.
I found a workaround which solved the flickering problem for me.
It's simple: go to accessibility preferences ->screen, and slightly increase the mouse pointer. You just need to set it a bit beyond normal size, so in practice this setting is not noticeable.
I'm using 15' late 2011 macbook pro, been using ML for the past week and everything was smooth until today. Mission control suddenly became super choppy! but came across threads that suggested using xBench and it worked for me after a test!
+1 guessing a graphics driver thing.
My 2011 MBA (11", i7) has very rarely had trouble with smooth graphics between exposé, mission control, spaces, etc. . . but mission control and a few other things randomly are choppy.
Also, the iMac had a rough transition in safari into the tab view... haven't done too much on the iMac yet tho. Overall happy with the system
I can not confirm it, I have the 2011 i7 Air and still running Lion 10.7.4. I suffer from horrible choppy annimations since 10.7.4, but I cant recall if it started after the Thunderbolt update or the last EFI, however, I am 100% sure it wasn´t choppy during 10.7.3 or earlier.
It is lagging all over:
1. Mission Control
2. Launchpad
3. Swiping desktops
4. When the dock appears
5. Quicktime, when transitioning to Fullscreen
6. And the WORST, iPhoto when I start a slideshow
There are several threads here, naming this problem for Lion and also ML. No idea yet what is going on. While some dosn´t seem to have this problem I am asking myself whether they simply dont notice it?
Or it is indeed just on some machines, by now I found it strange and there don´t seem to be an answer. I already downloaded ML just for the fact to get it running smooth again, but I am yet waiting.
However, all this said, the problems I encounter (on 10.7.4) are laggy just in the first second.
For example the first time I let the dock appear it comes choppy, the second time it comes smooth, same for Mission Control and Launchpad - then they stay smooth until I put the Air to sleep or shut it down.
Quicktime & iPhoto Slideshows however always start choppy, then after a second they run smooth, until I restart. Graphics problem seems possible, but it could easily be fixed, right?
Very strange.........
Choppy animations on macbook pro 2011 13 inch are real problem.
I have done some performance tests with Novabench under Lion and Mountain Lion. Result? Mountain Lion got 30 fps in graphics test, Lion 50 fps!!! 30 fps isnt enough for animations to look smooth.
Clean install didnt help.
Please do Novabench test and check graphic score.

I had choppy animations while switching through desktops. Doing a clean install now.
did it resolve your issues? I'm just curious, since Im having zero issues with ML ..I was upgrading from SL.
Did you guys try this for fixing choppy graphics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmoWoeNrkOs
Also, don't forget to report the issues to Apple (remember, the more of us report, the more likely the problem is to be fixed )
