Would love to buy the z3c but I have been reading the camera has problems. Most users are reporting a pink spot in the middle of the camera.

I picked mine up a week or so ago unlocked from the Sony store so far so good, no pink spots on the camera. The camera can take some really good photos, my wife and I were quite impressed with how it can bring out the vibrancy in the eyes in my daughters pictures.
Have to say for my first foray into andriod it isn't all that bad, it is a nice device. Great battery life, good display, good in the hand. I haven't been as impressed with video yet, but then again I haven't shot too much, but did note that sports mode tends to shoot best so far.
My only other issue is finding cases for these, not that much out there, ordered 2 to try for Christmas. Who know maybe I'll keep it naked

Finally pulled the trigger on the Z3 Tablet Compact. Of course they'll announce a Z4 Ultra at CES this week and I'll regret it lol. Should arrive by next week.

Hope you can get it replaced. Not the greatest first impressions for you to have.

Replaced my Nexus 6 with this beauty yesterday and it's superb.

Posted about my reasoning on The Verge forums and I'm very pleased with the change.

From the most disappointing Nexus I've ever owned to one of the best phones that has ever graced my palm.

Why I didn't go straight for this phone I don't know, I'm guessing I was lollipop blind! :D

Waiting for that Z4 to be shown later and the inevitable regret of buying a phone so close to CES. :p

Nice.

You bought it unlocked? Or through Verizon?

Ah, I haven't given my impression yet of my Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact I got for Christmas.

Short answer, I love it!

It's so damn thin... and nice and light. The back is nice and grippy and I like the notification light it has.
It's fast too and the 3GB RAM certainly allows tons of multitasking. The screen is also gorgeous, I have played my PS4 using the awesome remote play and to my eye's the tablets screen looked better then my TV! Their is a little lag when playing COD but it works fine and looks gorgeous playing FarCry 4. It is a bit annoying though that due to the way the Dual Shock 4 controller is designed that when it's paired to the tablet, you have to repair it to the PS4 after but that is easy enough.
The screen can loose colours and goes white at extreme angles though but on the whole it's great.

It's a fast device too and very smooth, Sony's skin has some very nice little touches, but it seems you cannot uninstall any of the apps they include without rooting the device, however as usual you can stop their services from running.
The speakers are pretty good, nice and loud enough considering they are waterproof, the sound fine, on some loude videos they can vibrate the device a bit though.

But the tablet feels nice and solid, the front glass could be better fitting on one edge of the bezel but it's totally sealed as I have used it under running water fine! Battery life seems pretty good, obviously depends on what you do with it but overall it can easily last a day and nearly two.

I am very happy with the tablet, it is better built than my 2012 Nexus 7 was and performs smoother.

I have the black 32GB WiFi model with a nice fast 32GB SD Card, just need my Noreve case I ordered for it and Sony's Lollipop update now :)
I also got the charging dock which works great, it clicks onto the tablet positively and it means you don't have to fiddle with the access doors on the tablet all the time.

Is it worth the high price tag? That's up to your opinions I guess, but in the UK we got £30 cashback that Sony are offering plus we got it though a high street store discount scheme through my work so saved £26 from that too, so in the end I got the tablet for £324. Not bad IMO and it makes it comparable with the competition, and they have now reduced the cost of the tablet whilst still offering the £30 cashback.

I'm glad they didn't announce the Z4 line at CES as my Z3 Tablet Compact just shipped today so I'll have some time with it before it's not the newest model anymore. I'm probably going to be wishing for a Z4 Ultra once they announce it.

lovely battery life, mode Stamina killer feature
I lost about 1% per night without disabling data, connection or using airplane mode
At idle, it consumes almost nothing
I can watch a tv serie ep through streaming and barely lose around 5% per episode (full hd quality)
Very impressive

My Z3 Tablet Compact has developed a couple of dead pixels :(:(

They are together in the same spot, I've tried those flashing colour apps and pressing the LCD as best I can, although I haven't done this too much.

Any other ideas? I'm not sure I will be able to get it replaced or repaired for free.

Going to be taking the tablet back and push for a replacement from the store I got it from, John Lewis. Really don't want it repaired as its glued together like an iPad. Anyone got any tips of what to say?

The dead pixels should be plenty enough reason I'd think.

My Tablet is getting to be pretty buggy. Trouble installing and launching apps and it stutters quite a bit. Debating sending it back :/

Yeap, showed a guy the dead pixel, was offered an immediate replacement with no hassle, that's why I buy things from that store. The replacement has been fine.

With your device, remove all your apps and then do a full factory reset, then see how it goes.

I was planning to do a factory reset, but it's necessary to remove all the apps first?

You don't have to, but cause of the way Android works, when you have restored the device then it will automatically download and install all your apps as well, so if it's one of your apps that is slowing your device you won't know. But you can remove your apps one by one to see what difference it makes first.
