Hey, too each their own. You have preferences that Android fulfills in better fashion where for me, while there are parts of Android's notification system that I like and wish were part of iOS (i.e. clear all), I find I generally prefer iOS's implementation, especially now with the changes introduced in iOS 8. I want lockscreen notifications and have found iOS's implementation better than anything I've seen or tried on Android. Having all notification settings in one centralized locations is far more convenient and user friendly vs. having to enter each individual app as is required in Android. I also like being able to pull down the notification panel from the lockscreen while still having lockscreen security. And while top bar icons certainly are great to see if you have a notification, iOS provides me greater detail without even unlocking the device.
Again, I see merits to both systems, just find iOS better for my personal needs, that's all
