I second getting the black Milanese Loop! Here's the link to the one I bought: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B013SAJQB2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awd_ERiHwbDDZ9APT

Do you find that the magnet doesnt work well? I have the same band and I have to re-tighten the strap all the time. its annoying. Looks great, but so annoying

This is my main concern about 3rd party bands. Tempting, but what will you end up with...

Here's my current setup with my SG sport, bright blue genuine leather loop with spigen rugged armor case and (badly put on) screen protector - can't be seen normally. i'm a bit of a clutz when it comes to my watches so the spigen and screen protector are a great help. If i want to posh it up i'll either remove the spigen which immediately makes it look smarter and i will use a knock off milanese in black which has a wickedly strong magnet and makes the watch look classy!

I don't want to sift through 26 pages of threads....what's the consensus for a 38MM space gray metal band under, say $50?

I have bought

White Sports Band
Sky Blue sports band
Product red band
Midnight Blue leather loop
and Black Stainless steel (if you have a chance to get this, do it. Stunning band)

And i'm also looking at the stone & black leather loops, midnight blue sports band and seeing how the original stainless steel looks.

I've had my replacement milanese loop band for a while, but I have to say I still like my green sports band the best :)

Hi
Did you get the  black stainless steel link bracelet?
I'm on the fence about purchasing one this week. Does it work with the space gray sport watch color?
I think the black stainless works well with the space grey watch because looking down directly the space grey almost disappears between the black screen and black band. It's a good compliment compared to the silver stainless that would be too much contrast.
The watch and band are also crazy reflective so they are always shifting colors/tones as you rotate your wrist and the lighting changes. You can see the purple tint in the photo that's actually a reflection from a big window on an overcast day.

Ordered a Hoco 3 bead band in tarnish and also a black leather band but I fear after reading up other people's reviews it's quite big, as I have small wrists (163mm) I think it won't over lap. Will report back once I've got it.

Considering the product red sports band though as it looks great on space grey.

I never use "stunning" but this band is stunning. You're so right and it's really comfortable. Thanks for the advise.

Yes but is that a 3rd party or Apple stainless black band? If 3rd party, where?

Thanks. I have bought two 3rd party stainless bands and not been pleased with either.

The traditional-style metal bands in the $50-100 price range (like HOCO) can be very good, but the 3rd party replicas of Apple's stainless band design are just not good enough for regular use. I definitely suggest saving up for the real thing if you want that style of band. I would feel bad throwing away bands that cost $50 or $100 every couple of months because they fell apart. I would feel even worse if the band failed and caused my watch to fall off and break.
That's the general rule for knock-off of anything: at best, it looks good but probably won't last as long. Knowing that definitely helps set your expectations.

Surprisingly, the magnet holds its position very well. I've had to adjust it maybe once or twice over the dozen times I've used this band. I was definitely worried when I first got it!

Well said Type,
I did the 3rd party and it wore out in 5 months of daily use so I saved for the  black link and I love it. It's really very well made.

So I've had my Black Milanese band for roughly 2 months now.

Only had 1 issue with it. if you look at the magnet, there is a thin metal piece covering it. Mine came off.. I was at my sister's house and she had some Loctite super glue handy so I figured it's better than nothing and placed a drop or two on the magnet and put the cover back on. The intent was to be a temp fix till I could get home, but it's still holding strong.

As for the magnet itself holding the strap on. It's still strong... I don't find myself adjusting the strap very often. When I do adjust it, it's mainly due to me catching the strap on my clothes or something else and it's come a little loose.
I've read reviews etc where the band starts to lose the paint as well, mine you can't tell anything is coming off, unless you really look hard at it. And only then can you see a tiny bit fading away right where the magnet touches.

I'm not a guy who needs a band for every occasion. Have not taken the Milanese loop off since I got it.. and only looking at getting a decent priced good quality metal link style band as another option. Don't like leather on my wrist, don't care for cloth/webbing stuff, hate the silicone and plastic crap.. only watch bands i've ever liked on my watches i've owned prior to the Apple Watch are metal. *Not* going to pay more for a band than I paid for the actual watch.. So the Apple band is out.
