Texas, unfortunately.
COME ON people, why are you so hostile? He's doing his best, he's designing for what he wants, and thats what we would all do!

Would I buy this? No. But that's no reason to say it sucks, just because you don't like it.

Well if he did not want negative attention he should had not posted his designs.

I don't think the iMac needs multi touch.

Yeah, too thick and sortof impractical... I dunno if that would happen. That's more of a laptop design... almost. The feature's there don't really work out. To tell the truth, it's not a bad idea, you just missed the mark a little.

I agree with Cassie. Well, I mostly agree with her, anyway. I think many people here have gone way overboard in their "criticisms" of the OP's wedge iMac. It is one thing to totally disagree with the concept (and I do), but at the very least Godbless has given us an interesting discussion piece that obviously provokes strong reactions around here (I think the fact that I'm posting this on the ninth page attests to that). There is nothing wrong with disagreeing with a concept, but yelling at someone for designing and posting that concept is very sad.

Why dont you all leave the kid alone...

First of all, he's not a kid. He can stand up for himself.

I posted a thread about a year ago (I was 12 at the time). I said I'd make the greatest OS ever and donate my proceeds to starving children in Africa. I'd never written a line of code in my life. People were pretty callous towards me, and I wasn't exactly pleasant in the majority of my replies. I also gave a lot of posters that I was an average immature, absent-minded teenager.

Looking back, I'm glad that so many people were openly critical and denounced my thoughtless idealism. Thanks to that, I'm a much more thoughtful, analytical person today.

That said, I do wonder if we're giving him an especially hard time because he's a conservative Evangelical Christian. I'm a very liberal Jewish guy myself, but I do notice that we tend to be slanted against righties. Then again, an insane person is classified as one who makes the same mistakes again and again while expecting a different outcome.;)

Anyhow, I can't say I like the design.

That definition would classify Thomas Edison who made many minor modifications on his light bulb as insane. Thomas Edison "failed" at creating a superior light bulb over 3,000 of times but ended up finding a successful way to create a long burning light bulb anyway. I'll stick with Einstein's quote: "Great spirits have always encountered violent opposition from mediocre minds.".

<non-constructive criticism>Yeah, really. That design is total crap. It's blocky, wedgy, the opposite of sleek and sexy, and completely UN-innovative...actually kind of the complete opposite of anything Apple would do at this stage in the game. Seriously dude, if there were progression in your design, I could see people warming up to you...but it's the same crap with a different coat of paint. Don't quit your day job or find a new hobby.</non-constructive criticism>

You were completely shot down the first time you made a thread about this design, adding textured pictures isn't going to help much. It's really just an incredibly bad design...
Yeah dude. Your design is absolute and utter crap.

I think all of this constructive criticism has run its course.

*looks at lots of deleted posts*
