So the spore creature creator is supposed to officially launch on Tuesday but will it be for Mac? Just wondering, because this looks pretty sweet, heck I might even upgrade for $10.

I am really looking forward to this game!

One question though - I have a macbook and an imac. I'm assuming I can't install it on both...does anyone know if I can or can't?

Thanks!

I played around with it last night, the demo version. Even with the limited options it was a blast. Very addictive trying to see what you can create. I will be buying the full version tomorrow for sure and start making more creatures. I really can't wait till the full game comes.

I'll also be picking up the demo, it looks incredibly fun and entertaining.

Let's also post our Spore IDs when they open it up tomorrow so we can see each others creations.

It's $10. That'd be steep for just one of the FIVE huge editors*, but you're supposed to get a little off the price of the full game when it's released.

*Cell, Creature, City, Vehicle (land, sea, air), and Spaceship

Well I haven't found anything about this deal so I think I won't buy it, just wait for the full game.

Download

Would you guys mind telling me where you downloaded it? (for mac)

When i download it, i download an .exe file…
But i have a mac! What can id o with it?? On the site, they wrote, in the system requirements, xp, vista and MAC OS X…

The Spore Creature Creator Mac demo is on the european sites now. Is the full Spore Creature Creator Mac avaivable as a digital download?

What I find really neat is that the data for your creations are all embedded in a png image of the creation. Very small too.

Ah man.

I downloaded the Mac (demo) version just to check it out, but it works flawlessly :(

I was hoping I could kick and spit on Cider for a bit, but unfortunately it's working perfectly fine, and I'm having no problems running windowed either. I wouldn't have known it's Windows emulation if I hadn't heard before.

;)

So where are you buying the Mac version with a download? The Apple store link seems to insist on shipping? Or are you just using the demo download from the other link?

doesn't run for me :-(

I downloaded it also, and I can't get it to even run past the (long) introductory advertising/disclaimers. Worse, when I finally got *out* of it, it had screwed up my monitor calibration. :(

I'm using fairly standard Core 2 Duo Alum iMac with 2Gigs of Ram.

I'd be interested to know from those who can make it work, whether or not you can do humans. I like the creature look, but I would like to make some things that look more unique also (without the obvious "monster" look to them).

Define human? If you mean upright walking bipedal cartoony looking humans that look like something from the Simspons then yes. They wont have clothes though. You can always add leaves over their private areas if so inclined.
