if you buy it at walmart, you can get a 5$ giftcard with it. i also read somewhere that you can get 5$ off at target and some other place. i think i might head to walmart tomorrow and pick up the full version. i've made about a dozen creatures in the trial and it's so much fun. even with the limited parts, none of my little guys look even remotely the same.

I'm going to agree with crkfc. Even though I only have the demo, it's the body that makes the creature.

I'm TallestSkil in the Sporepedia, but you probably guessed that.

Of course, It'd be nice to make a guy that's all bespiked and covered in wing. Singular on purpose.

And you can't make Trogdor with the demo... :( I did make a Pierson's Puppeteer, though...

Another question - how do you get it running in windowed mode on the Mac? Or is that possible?

Either Command–M or Command–Enter, not sure which one.

The problem is that the game adjusts the system-wide gamma while it's running, so your colors will be messed up.

Hmm. Looks like you cant create buddies or see all Sporepedia stuff in game. Well not that I see anyway. Gotta browse and download manually. I wonder if the full CC adds these features.

Not the full creature creator, but the full game will.

I'm Mackilroy, though I've only created 20+ creatures so far.

ORLY?

Define human? If you mean upright walking bipedal cartoony looking humans that look like something from the Simspons then yes. They wont have clothes though. You can always add leaves over their private areas if so inclined.
By human I mean "human looking" to a degree that they could be mistaken for human.

It seems like it's not possible from the screen-shots in that they don't have any mouths resembling human mouths for starters, just "muzzles" (like Homer).

What would make the creator really interesting for me is the ability to create humans, animals, and human/animal hybrids. I guess I will wait for the paid version and try it out as it's only ten bucks, but so far it seems pretty cartoony and kid-focussed.

A serious game of this type should include things like procreation, defecation, different types and periods of nurturing, suckling young, etc. as well and none of those seem to be included from what I can see. Would being a marsupial give an advantage for instance? If the females have to spend a lot of time with the offspring, then that leaves them open to attack etc.

I like what I see with this game and at ten bucks it's a steal but I was hoping for all of that and more, so that was why I asked.

Only the creator is $10. The full game, when released, will be about $50 just like PC games I've seen recently.

it seems the full version of the creature creator has been delayed until the 18th. if you go to the EA page to buy it, it says the 18th. the mac page that someone posted (gametreeonline.com) just says "coming soon". hopefully tomorrow. GameStop said they would have it the 18th. my local walmart actually has the 19th as the release date.

I wonder if we'll be able to buy and download it tonight.

The trial version doesn't satisfy my needs!

Has anyone worked out how to import creatures from http://www.spore.com/sporepedia#qry=all

The tip on the left is not that helpful, trying to cmd-tab out of the game is fine, but trying to tab back in while dragging the png (really cool idea for data) doesn't seem to work.

This requires a windowed game or for you to not be playing, but you can also open /documents/My Spore Creations/Creatures and drag the .png there.

I can't for the life of me figure out how to make a creature skinny or fat using my MacBook Pro trackpad. Can someone clue me in? Thanks!

Hmm, so two finger scrolling doesn't work? That's obnoxious. Sorry I can't help, don't have an intel laptop :(.

FYI for those here in Europe: the full game will be 54,99 EUR, release date Sept. 4.

The Mac download is up at the Spore homepage at EA, but I haven't tried yet. Not sure if the full game will like the integrated graphics in my Mini, even though it says GMA 950 should be good enough in the French press release.

€ 55 vs $50?

No way. I'l be voting with my wallet – for another game, that is.
