I was also turned off of the sports loop when I initially read that it was velcro, rather than magnetic. I went to the store and was pleasantly surprised they had some 42mm LTE models in stock, but they only had the sports loop and sports band models. So, I decided to take a chance on the sports loop, since I wanted something different from what I had before (black sports band, and a silver link bracelet).

Man am I happy I went with the sports loop. I really like it! It's velcro, but it looks like nice velcro, and it is super comfortable. I think it's way more comfortable than the sports band. It's very, very soft. Between this band and the fact that I went aluminum this time around, I can barely even tell i'm wearing this on my wrist. I dig it.

My one gripe would be that, like someone indicated earlier, they call it "Dark Olive" but it really ends up looking more like light grey with a dark olive accent color on the edges and lugs. It still looks nice, but I sort of think if the entire thing were dark olive colored I'd like it even more.

Really like the look of them, but not for £49. I will wait until the copies appear on eBay. I have a few other bands, suck as the Nike band copy for £7 and the quality is excellent.

Thank you, I'm up in the air on which one still. I might go olive now as I don't like the multi-color look in the black.

Don’t choose off pictures. Actually go see and touch for yourself at an apple store. These bands look totally different in person.

I thought I wouldn’t like Black off the pictures but in person I fell in love.

Spicy Orange arrived this morning at last. Stock is still very scarce in the UK with none in stores. Nice colour. Still not a huge fan of the band.

I’ve had mine since Monday but for me like most bands I would just wait and buy a knockoff. I know others will disagree but in my opinion the sport loop doesn’t feel worth the $49 and should be $29. The watch connectors and part where loop end “locks in” and stays together are all plastic and can look cheap compared to other Apple products. The stretchy-ness is cool and the velcro connection is really solid and looks to last a long time. It took me a slight adjustment getting used to it compared to other bands. I sweat a lot and know this thing would get nasty after a two weeks running with it. I am sure I can wash it in the sink and air dry it but not as easily as my trusty old silicone one. I would miss it’s softness and lack of metal that would hit my MBPros palm rest like the sport band and milanaise loop.

I will return this if I can not swap it for one of the Nike bands as they have more holes to allow airflow/circulation.

Right. The colors change slightly according to the lighting. In strong lighting you can see the different colors, but just a bit. The photos make the colors stand out more than they actually do. In medium lighting the black band looks more like a dark brown to me. The olive band looks like a light grey to me and the olive edges only are noticeable if you look closely in bright light. I like the subtle colorings.

I also like the band's comfort. It's very light. As someone mentioned, when paired with an AL case, it almost feels like one isn't wearing a watch. The first day I used it I'd occasionally have to glance at my wrist because it felt like my watch had fallen off. It's the most breathable band I've used...leather loops, woven w/buckles, and the elastomer sport. The infinite adjustment is great especially when combined with the slight stretch of the band.

For me I don't enjoy the metal of a watchband banging against the rest on my MBP, so the plastic end and soft material makes it ideal all round.

I went and checked them out in the store yesterday, and I agree 100%. I'll echo what others have said, you have to go see this in person as it looks entirely different than it does in pictures. It's way more fuzzy looking than I was expecting. Given that Apple uses the words woven nylon in the description for this, I was expecting it to look at least a little bit like the woven nylon bands. But it's entirely different, and in a way that I don't like the look of at all.

I'm going to order the previous generation black woven nylon band, I'm not a fan of the new stripey black one either. I tend to prefer solid color bands, and I'm a little disappointed that Apple doesn't really have any options for that in the woven nylon bands anymore.

I was able to find an Orange Sport Loop in Atlanta available for pick up today. A couple stores around Atlanta & Augusta, GA have them in stock.

A buddy of mine picked it up for me and dropped in the mail. Glad I can cancel my apple.com order that had 7-8 week lead time delivering the week of Nov 13th. It’s great when the network you build in college pays off for material items haha

:D

Now the wait til October only includes the Olive Sport Loop and Nike Platinum/Black Sport Band... The journey continues lol

Picked up two Sport Loop bands today. I had ordered the Black online and was willing to wait, but once I saw it was available at the third or fourth closest Apple Store I decided to head out there since I was off from work today.

I love them both but the Black fits my style perfectly. They’re so incredibly light and comfortable as well!

Excuse the dry skin, it is really windy today!

Does the black really have colored specs on it or is it solid black ? I have the olive one and I’m just not sure if I like it , I may swap to my old Nike band .

I should have to go through a major city with an apple store this weekend. I aim to drop in and I am crossing my fingers that I'll stumble across a sport loop. They look so nice.

Thanks, do you think the rubber sport bands are better/ nicer ?

As a user of both, I tend to lean towards my black sport loop over the traditional sport band and nike sport band. Not sure if its the “new-ness” factor lol but i like the look of the black sport loop. The specs of color are not over-bearing and compliment the band really well it natural light conditions. I have received nothing but compliments.

anyone have the midnight blue or whatever its called?

So I just got my midnight sport loop today. The band is stupid comfortable and lightweight. Not only that, but the velcro system is one of my favorite band adjustment systems to date. It feels very secure and is easy to adjust. I plan on using this thing in the gym quite a bit and doing some weightlifting. The HRM on the Apple Watch needs to be rather tight to keep accurate readings coming fast. Being that the band has some elasticity, it is the easiest band I have used for tightening it on the fly.

The one thing that gets me with this band in particular is the color of it. A part of me likes it, but the a part of me can’t get over how much “white” I keep seeing. The white is the nylon loops the the velcro fastens to. I thought looked fine and like a decent match for stainless in other pictures, but having it in person has me thinking otherwise. I sort of wish it had a more solid color with little color flecks here and there like the black band.

All in all, the band is very comfortable and rather practical. However, I am probably going to end up exchanging it for the black one. I don’t know yet though. It has grown on me just a little as the day goes on.

Can’t wait to see some of your guys’ thoughts.

At least it matches your wallpaper! I have the black sport loop and I love it - my favourite band by a long way. BTW, yours is a great colour!

I like the look of that band/case combo based on your pics. I do love my black one though (w/silver aluminum case), and couldn’t blame you for wanting to exchange it for that color.

Just went on an hour long hike with my Sport Loop band in the Georgia heat, so lots of sweat. Never moved, never got uncomfortable. Love.

It’s kinda funny, that I have done a practical 180 since last night and into this morning. I’m starting to really love the look of it. It just takes some adjustment of expectation I guess.

I may buy the black in the near future too though. I mean, that is one cool looking band.

Btw, these things dry pretty darn fast and are still really comfortable even when wet.
