Many people will want that instant notification, and not want to wait an extra minute for a notification.
Not in the current version. Newer versions are said to be adding more pro only features.
I've been getting a lot of weird duplicate notifications. They have only been happening with Detroit Red Wings games - that is the only team I'm tracking from the NHL so I'm not sure if it is specific to them.
For example, today they were playing and I got notifications like usual when the score went 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, and 2-2 like normal. But in the 3rd period it went 3-2 then 3-3 which I got notifications for. But then it resent the 3-2 score notification from earlier (with the correct game time) and a few seconds later it resent the 3-3 score. I'm not sure if they were sent in place of actual score changes.

Looks like there is a new update out which includes new alerts for pro users among other things. Keep up the good work!
The devs tweeted yesterday:
"Pro 1.7 is approved, free should follow any day. Let us know what you think!"

wow i've had the Lite version for all of 5 minutes and LOVE IT! great job!! looks like i'm going to get the full version and support the devs!!

I have been using the free version of the app for a few weeks now and I love it too. I am not too far away from buying the Pro version of app myself.
In fact, I just bought it!

NCAA Football Red Zone Alerts for 2009 -- $0.99
Line Move Alerts 30-day subscription -- $1.99
The first two are self-explanatory...the third is probably for the gambling line.

Adding Push updates for NCAA basketball and MMA and i'm a fan for life. Load times for chats being decreased would be awesome. Maybe a "prettier" design. That's really about it.
The biggest complaint (not really a complaint at all) I have is the UI. But I'm sure you get that a lot.
I love the push notifications!
But to just go and quickly glance at the scoreboard, I use ESPN... because it's just easier to navigate when I just wanna look up scores real quick.
I know Sportacular has a lot more stuff integrated into it than the ESPN app does, which is great!

Yeah the UI is still a difficulty for me. I check espn's app when I want a quick glance at something. I only use sportacular for the push notifications. I don't regret buying the pro version, loving it! But if someone puts out something like sportacular with a polished UI...game over.
I just downloaded this app the other day and I must say, it's pretty good so far. Can't speak on too much yet as I'm still checkout all the features & alerts but the first thing I did notice was the graphic interface. This comment is purely cosmetic but the current version seems very plain to me. Perhaps this is on purpose to keep the app faster rather than having to load a bunch of gfx. But team logos next to the name would be a nice start.
I am using Sportacular Pro and find it to be the best sports app available.
A couple of possible improvements:
1. The u/i could be spruced up a bit as it is a bit on the drab side.
2. Basketball Stats:
More detailed game stats should be easier to access; i.e. the stats that appear in the player stat box. I know space is limited, but the stat screen should show fg/a, 3pt/a, ft/a. I would rather have additional stats than know the number of seconds that the player has played.
An alternative would be to have every name on the stat page link to the player stats, which then provides the more detailed stat information.
I feel that this is the one area that Sportacular Pro is outperformed by other sports apps.
Otherwise, it is the best.

I agree with this... I guess that is my only real complaint about the app. If the UI was spruced up a bit (especially need to get rid of the green/blue glow effect) it would look much nicer. I love the functionality though.
