Seriously though, there are much more tactically involved RTS games around and tactics and stratergy are the whole point of the genre.
Blizzard has a more well known name in the gaming side for many of us. Growing up with Warcraft, Warcraft II, Starcraft. I know for me at least, Blizzard games seem much more polished then other RTS' that I have played on the PC and Mac side.
This is great because not only is it making a sequel, it's changing the online social aspect of the game as well!

I'm well aware of that. I played the very first Warcraft when it was released and have played just about every major Blizzard game since.
It doesn't change the fact that as an RTS, Starcraft really wasn't the best strategy game out there. It was just Command and Conquer in space basically. Now Cossacks and Sudden Strike were top class strategy games.

Total Annihilation had AWFUL balance issues. It was basically unplayable against other humans. Whoever could build a plasma canon first (and hide it with a deleter) basically won.
The reason why Starcraft has so much staying power is because Blizzard puts forth far more effort than any other game maker to ensure the game is balanced.
i started playing starcraft, warcraft 2, warcraft 3, then wow but wow was too addicting so i quit that early haha.

I've been playing SC2 Beta for the past couple weeks and it is great. Its actually feels a lot like your playing SC but with upgraded graphics with an expansion pack added on to it since there are new units, but hey thats not a bad thing.
I'm getting kind of bored playing 2v2 and 1v1 and am looking forward to the great custom games which will be made once the game goes live. That is what makes WC3 so great are all the custom games people have made and I think SC 2 custom games will be even bigger.

i remember making custom maps on starcraft. then wc3 came out and it was a little bit more complicated. starcraft is going to have soooooo much to customize i bet. sc custom maps were always better than wc3 though.

I'd be happy with a key to. I'm not in the US so t here's hardly any method to get in..
In Australia you get a key by pre-ordering it, I know EB does and I read that someone got one from JB. So I would assume other countries might be doing it, might just have to ask.
well i have the 9600gt 2.8ghz 15" model
playing in clamshell mode with my cinemaview 24" and i'm running it at 1600x900 32bit (no option to go 16bit like windows), using recommended settings and i set lighting to off so now everything looks horrible
the gameplay is smooth, i found if i leave it default it's okay on 1280x720 but the text is squished and it looks weird.
unfortunately it just runs the game like a lower end pc would
i guess the i7/i5 mbp with 330m will do better

I've checked and double checked every gameshop, but it seems there is no pre-order way to get it in the Netherlands. the giveaways seem to happen on FB in the middle of the night and in this weeks contest restricted to the US. I guess I can only hope they send out a new wave of codes to Mac users and to be in it.. either find a nice person on a forum with a spare key.
