Are you ordering from a country outside of the county of your account? I have a US Steam account and in te past few days, I've has to change the residency option to Korea and the Philippines because I kept getting that error. Evidently, Steam checks the country of your IP.

As a matter of fact, I'm deployed right now so thats probably what it is. Will it change to the a local store based on the country I'm in at the moment, even though my home is in the States? How will this affect my purchases?

I haven't purchased anything from Steam in a couple years, mainly because I've received a lot of my games for free from promotions. So I'm still pretty new at this.

Ok so i've now broken through the 100 games bought on steam barrier :) :)

(and more surprisingly 59 of them are SteamPlay for both mac & pc)

Anyone have Penumbra? It looks pretty cool, but figured I would ask if anyone has tried it yet.

Bought the original, not the sequel on PC a long while ago. Much like Amnesia if you've played that ?

351 on Steam, over a 100 of them Steamplay
About 50 on GOG.com
About 50 PS2 games
Over dozen now on Mac App Store (I just got my iMac less than 2 months ago)

It is madness. I am crazy and have decided to just accept it and go with it. At least I am a bargain hunter and never, ever pay anything close to full price for any of them.

I worked out my crazyness last year, I think. I tallied up how many Steam games I had and also priced up how much I had spent. I think it was around £600 for 300 games, not including any bundles sold outside of Steam, which I think is a very good number. £600 for 5 years worth of games and no subscription charges... that's like 12 brand-new console games.

I daren't do that now. This year I bought a lot of games at launch or pre-ordered. Eep! Must be pushing £2k now.

Bought Walking Dead last night. Almost got Red Faction, but changed my mind at the last. I think that's probably me done now, although I might get Fallout 3 if it goes down to 75% off again. Given my lack of free time to stay in and play games, I think these'll see me through until the Christmas sale!

The Steam Store really isn't liking me being away from home. It isn't comprehending that just because my computer is outside of the US, doesn't mean my billing information is addressed outside the US as well. Looks like I'll be sitting this sale out.

Bought Legend of Grimrock the other day, thought I could get it to run in WINE. That's a NO . . . guess I'll have to wait until Almost Human games creates a mac port and it goes live on SteamPlay. Or until I bootcamp Win7 or somesuch on my Mac. Or never. Glad to support the devs.

Succumbed to the sale again last night:
-Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - $2.49. Insanity.
-The Tiny Bang - $2.50. Wonderful hidden object/art/puzzle game.

Let's see what comes up in the days to come . . . :)

Urgh, added;

Fear 3
The Ship (was part of a 2 pack gift a friend got)
Crysis Collection
Stacking
Dear Esther

This sale is going to empty my bank, I swear! :p So far I've bought Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and the Grand Theft Auto package.

After buying KOTOR I told myself I wouldn't buy anything else, but as the days go by they seem to find something that takes my interest and will get me to shell out, damn you Steam! ;)

I've spent more than I wanted to ($30ish) but there is another $30ish that I'm considering. Damn you steam! :D

Actually, I think steam is the #1 best thing to happen to games in the last 20 years. Not only have they made buying games easy, these types of sales made it FUN and CHEAP!

:D

I honestly think there are only a few Mac games I haven't already purchased. Yesterday I went to buy some and it wouldn't let me. . . turns out, I already owned them and had forgotten I purchased them.

I wish I had the time to play games on my Mac apart from L4D2 and TF2 (i.e., easy playability games)...I've got at least 10 which I haven't even started tapping yet; and my workload probably won't allow it anyway...

Back again. This one I really could not believe . . .

The Witcher: Enhanced Director's Cut - $2.49!!!

Also, I picked up:

Plants versus Zombies GOTY - $2.50
Gratuitous Space Battles - $5
Harvest: Massive Encounter - $3

Followed your pointer towards The Witcher: Enhanced Edition only to find that it does NOT work on my Mac Pro, black screen loads of sound and a hand pointer thing but nothing else. Seems loads of people are complaining about either NOT working or crashing all the place, keep away from this one is my advice here.

Did you try and get some tech support to try and get it working?

I did, still no go :(

Change my Macs screen res...
Re download...
Make sure pretty much nothing else is running...

That was about the help I got, other than that I felt the developers who replied where not that bothered, no apology no nothing.

If I had paid loads more than the silly sale price I would really kick off at them.

Still going to contact Steam for a refund though.

I'm really sorry and pretty disappointed to hear that, man. I couldn't tell you how mine's working because it is STILL DOWNLOADING! I am on the worst internet connection since dial-up (about 75kB/sec), so it's looking like 3 days or so to download the 7GB. Tech support said to redownload? Preposterous.

I've got brand new hardware that falls between the game's required and recommended configurations, here's keeping my fingers crossed. I'm very surprised that it won't work on a Mac Pro, Wow! :(
