Any legit gamers know the deal with Steam's lack of Mac clients for some games that actually do have native versions? Is it a licensing thing, different distributors for different versions between PC and Mac and PS3, etc.? Bioshock, Borderlands, newest Deus Ex?

Figured it out. Feral independently makes those Mac ports, so understandably the lads wouldn't like their hard work bundled into the PC version's purchase at no additional cost. Their Mac Appstore prices aren't great though. Bioshock is $31, I bought it for $4.99 on sale, Deus Ex: Human Revolution is $51, I got it for $8.70. In other news my wife is going to kill me!

The beauty of digital distribution is there are no game boxes for her to find. Although if she does the bank statement balancing each month, you are in some trouble there. lol

I've spent about $50 on games over the last week. That's more than I spent in the last year or two on games. I'm in the same boat. Fortunately if I purchased them a few at a time, often under $10 so I think I'll fly under the radar. :D Actually it's not that bad, she can't complain, and if she does I'll just show her how much they would have cost if I didn't buy them during the sale. She loves sales. :D

Welp the sale is pretty much over, dropped $81 on these ones and zeros:

Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box
Driver: San Francisco
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit
Just Cause 2
Anomaly: Warzone Earth
Limbo
Grand Theft Auto Complete Pack
Mirror's Edge
Star Wars: KOTOR
Skyrim
Frozen Synapse

Bought KOTOR for a little over €2 (that's even less in $).

I expected a lot from it, seeing that it got such good reviews. Personally, I don't think it's worth more than what I paid for it. What a boring POS...

Too bad the Mac version of Bioshock isn't available on Steam, though, it's 75% off...

12 great games for $43. Wow! Now to buckle down and start playing through them. Already finished Tiny Bang Story, having fun with Runespell, probably going to dive in to Legend of Grimrock.

Here's to good gaming! :D

I'm all done too. I got a lot of great deals, many of them Steamplay which was sweet. It's a relief it is over! I am so broke now! But I am all set for entertainment for a very long time.

Enjoy your new toys everyone! :D

I guess I better do a tally too  My wife didn't react too badly when I emphasised the 75% off savings on all of them! (except Commander Keen which was 40%)

Bioshock 1 & 2 bundle
Borderlands
Braid
Commander Keen pack
Deus Ex bundle
Frozen Synapse
LIMBO
The Longest Journey
Mass Effect 1 & 2
Metro 2033
STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl
Thief bundle
Trine 1 & 2

So far my favourite by would be LIMBO. It's a gruesome platformer that only took a few hours, but it was so well drawn, funny at times, and strangely affecting for something so modest. Commander Keen is fun and nostalgic, but harder than I remember! I've just started on Borderlands, which so far is pretty hilarious, doesn't take itself too seriously, and the cell-shaded art style is very cool, reminded me of a shooter I played years ago called XIII (Thirteen). I was going to play Thief first, it's this classic I just never played at the time, but I ran into problems trying to run it. Crashed at first as soon as gameplay begun, and now it doesn't even launch, will get onto it after Borderlands. My sister has a really old Compaq laptop that I might call over and borrow if I can't get Thief to play in Windows 7 (I just don't have a big screen to plug it into).

I would love if Steam would let me gift or lend games to other Steam friends. I'm so fussy, I know that I won't end up liking a few of my purchases, and it would be great if I could just give them to someone else's Steam account rather than just have them sit in mine.

I bought ARMA II/Day Z to run on my '11 Quad MBP (16GB RAM) with VMWare & Win7.
Doesn't run too well.

Would it run better under Parallels?

I got:
Hitman: Blood Money
Bioshock 1 & 2
Deadspace 2
The Walking Dead
Fallout 3
Deus Ex: Human Revolution

I missed:
Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
Mass Effect 2

Total spend: £34.40 (~$53.30).

Still got a bunch of Humble Bundle stuff to get through. No more game purchases for a while...

It won't run well at all in either VMWare or Parallels, ARMA2 is a pretty demanding game, your best bet is using bootcamp to partition your drive and installing windows and then your latest video card driver, for me it was well worth going through all the hassle of getting the mod working to play it, it's the best game I have played in years.

I only bought 'Assassin's Creed Revelation' game & all packs. it was really worthy. once you bought lots of games during sale event, you don't feel like buying more games every year of sale event because event deals with similar games pretty much.

I bought too much. Basically with my crappy broadband connection I'll be downloading the stuff I've bought till the New Year Sale kicks in and then it'll start all over again......
