what is the point?

Another attempt: I am personally not interested at all what Mr. Jobs looks like or where he goes or comes from or with whom.

But the fact that there was not only one single photograph of him published in the last six, seven or eight months (esp. in the last four or five weeks) is a very, very rare thing in our over- and hyper-mediated times. Isn't it? Last but not least he is a top-class celebrity. Obviously without Facebook account.

You can count such persons on the fingers of one hand. I only remember the famous writer Carlos Castaneda who could manage in his lifetime that there is not only one photo of him. Maybe I can understand those attitudes.

And it's not trusted that the photo is really taken some hours ago. Maybe it's an old one or a complete fake. It's summer slump you know...

I got a slight chuckle that he was wearing his trademarked outfit, but what is that I see........a belt? He doesn't wear belts. :D

Good to see him working again though, go get 'em Jobs!

No matter what his diet is, he can still gain muscle weight. Since he can afford it, he can hire a personal trainer and nutrionist to maximize the benefits from the calories he eats.
BTW, Jobs eats fish. Last time I checked, fish don't grow on trees. So, please don't go calling him a vegetarian. It's insulting to vegetarians such as myself.

Vegetarianism has many variants. If you partake in one form and not another it is not your place to scorn the other forms, nor take offense. You could take the time to teach those around you about the different practices, or at least the form you practice.

What does it matter anyway, there isn't an official accreditation, certification, or otherwise for vegetarians or "vegetarian foods" in the U.S. (I may be wrong on that point). Although, I believe the U.K. does.

Who is this Steve Jobs guy anyway?

Not a well Man.

Mr. Job is just a man.

His time on this world has become more limited than he thought.

It's sad that people have to focus on his poor health to find something to talk about.

Sure, maybe his health is a concern for stock holders that believe the company is based on Mr. Jobs and not what he created.

I'm pray for his health to get better, and that has nothing to do with the company or stocks.

He is a man that now has serious health issues and I can relate and understand because I have known people his age and with his health issues.

To Mr. Jobs.. many of us are watching.. we may not be happy with some of your choices. But that doesn't mean that we do not care about your well-being as a person.

I would never wish cancer or any other such terrible disorder on anyone I have ever known and even disliked.

Get well and find your happy place, ill or not.. your time like all of the rest of us is limited in this world.

I pray that you will see in your last days that you can still do much good in this world and choose to do that good.

:)

Good luck with your health Mr. Jobs.

To add to the whole vegetarianism debate, if Steve Jobs eats fish in addition to vegetables, fruit and whatnot, this seems like a more accurate term to describe his kind of diet.

Also, @eastercat what's so insulting? If Steve, or anyone else, for that matter, isn't a pure vegetarian, are they below you or something?

Pescetarianism was exactly what I originally meant. I was just using vegetarian as a broad term. Most societies don't count fish as a meat.

That looks like Jonathan Ive next to him. He looks sort of sad. Steve Jobs is only human. People are not nice when they post articles about his health on the front of The Wall Street Journal. :(

Mr Jobs, please know that I care about you a lot.

Many are being very disrespectful. Please stop insulting/making fun. It is not nice at all.

I'm sorry to see that he looks altogether too much like my cancer ridden father did just before he passed away. I truly hope for a better outcome for Mr Jobs.

Come on MacRumors. Why post the pic? It's a bit trashy to start posing 'pap' shots isn't it? It's not like he has the new tablet under his arm, leave the guy alone.

Really?

This is what is on macrumors site, even if it is page 2?

People have a life, they go places, from A->B, .. even during daylight.

I think it is pretty sad that this is mentioned as 'news'.

"Known person walking on the streets" like, zomg totally, glitter everywhere.

Normally I don't comment on non-news at all, because it could be personal preference, but this .. sorry, sorta useless completely. My apologies for ran.. venting my discomfort with being disappointed.

I don't think you understand it, the point of the picture isn't about Steve leaving the campus, rather it's confirmed that he is back to work at Apple. He doesn't look very well, which is also accumulating a lot of interest/replies to this thread.

Zoom out and there are two others walking with him; Al Gore and Eric Schmidt. They had to retake this shot twice because Jobs forgot to take his shoes off...

I like how Mike says this right at the start and no-one catches on about the Abbey Road reference until later.

Unlucky Mike. I gotcha!

My last post wasn't an attempt to correct you or anything like that. I see where you're coming from, after reading your other posts, I think you made sense, I think it was okay for you to use vegetarian as a broad term, and also; it's kind of upsetting how some people have responded to you.

Oh I knew what your post meant. I just wanted no one to have any doubts about what I meant. I have had my words twisted around one to many times, so I like to always make sure what I say is very clear.

I know a lot of vegetarians that eat fish. And why are you insulted ? Because your definition of vegetarian is "only eats things that grow on trees ? " Hmmm does that mean you don't eat the following since they don't grow on trees either :

VEGETABLES
peanuts
soy beans
rice.....
