While I see what you are getting at, I still think there is a HUGE gap between the two. That's like saying a guy with his shirt off is that same as a guy with his pants off. One is acceptable in public, the other is not.

I don't understand what your saying.... I walk around with my pants off in public all the time. :p:D

No, but seriously it's still adult content. Playboy is not porn but it's adult content. Either get rid of it all and quit being a hypocrite OR expand and restrict to an adult section. Open that bad boy up ( no pun intended ).

Playboy is porn!!! I think the Apple store could benefit a lot from an adult store, but it will never do that. But yeah, there's always porn on the internet if you need it, no need for apps

Good for Apple! :)

IMHO, not having porn apps on the app store is good.

As for those who want to view porn on the iPhone/iPod touch/iPad, it can be done easily. So what's the issue?

I guess people miss paying for it. :p

It's not an issue anyway.

First of all, what would an app possibly deliver that you already can't get on sites?

Second, if you really need an app to download and organize, play, and share smut on, there are airsharing & downloader.

Who wants porn apps on their home screen anyway? "Oh sure, let me put your number in my contacts... oh uh, nevermind that, that there's triple anal fisting 4 app..." A whole app devoted to one... what, pornstar? Genre? Pay feed? I just don't understand what we're missing by not allowing "porn apps" in the AppStore.

And no, there is not just one app store. There is cydia as well, with numerous third party sources and apps. And yet, no real porn app proliferation there either. Why? Because there's no need. 9/10ths of everything on the net is porn as it is. ******* is already switching to html5, Youporn, redtube, & all the rest are working on it as well.

Most importantly, taking the official position of "no porn apps" in the app store instantly clears Apple of spending a penny on the myriad complicated legal restrictions regarding porn content and delivery that vary greatly from state to state.

The iPad gives you a bigger screen to watch all the pr0n you want. More screen estate= More eye candy. You get to interact more with the screen. Too bad there's no front-facing cam so the horny bastards can't have webcam sex.

"Fiore’s app will be in the store shortly. That was a mistake. However, we do believe we have a moral responsibility to keep porn off the iPhone. Folks who want porn can buy and [sic] Android phone."

But its completely acceptable for murder, but to show a woman's body is a complete no no?

You have some twisted morality there Stevie boy.

It's more than just porn. Where's that Google voice app? Having used both GV and AT&Ts VVM, the Google experience is far superior. I can access my voicemails from any computer, and the speech to text conversion while quirky works well enough to let me know whats inside of a voicemail.

The only reason Apple denied it is it has a beef with Google. In the end the consumer is the only one who lost.

Jobs runs his mouth about a lot of crap, it's way past time to put the old hippie out to pasture and let some real vision run the company.

If you need to download porn apps on your iPhone that bad, then you should probably switch to a phone that gives you what you want.

There's plenty of other ways to get porn on your iPhone. Did you know that Apps aren't the only things you can put on there? Did you know that you can sync movies and pictures on there as well? There are also quite a few iPhone-friendly porn sites if you do a quick search.

My point is, the App Store isn't the only way to get content onto your iPhone and if Apple doesn't wanna sell that smut in their store, then they don't have to. If you need porn that bad, then you need to buy a different phone. I don't think Steve Jobs would miss you.

'Nuff said.

Heresy!!!

Seriously he has been quite chatty lately, dare I say a little too much.

This argument that Safari is on the iPhone, so they are hypocrites, doesn't make any sense to me. Safari is a portal to the internet, if they were to censor anything on the internet, I'm pretty sure it might be illegal. The App Store is completely different, it was built closed. It was built so that Apple had all control of what goes in and out of it. It would be like making the argument to Best Buy that they should get rid of their DVD players because they don't sell pornographic DVDs.

Porn is porn, regardless of the source.

Porn is porn, regardless of the source.

Yes. But one is a web browser. They can't censor anything on the web, they don't have the right to. However their App Store is not the web, it is their store, they get to choice who goes and who stays. If Apple blocked anything on their Safari browser, I think the FCC might want to speak with them. But the App Store is completely different. To put it short, they are censoring their own store that they own, not the internet itself, which they don't own.
