Nope. It's smoother but it's still 60fps. And yes, I am now on 12.2. Re-enabled GPU Canvas Rendering since they seemed to have addressed that.

It has not been 60hz since 12.1. Xcode quartz debug doesn't lie; sounds like your eyes aren't trained to see 120hz yet especially on a bigger display.

Let me guess, you're using the TestUFO site to tell you what your framerate is?

It is definitely working for me. HDR in YouTube works without changing settings as well.

Edit: changed display to 60hz and immediately could tell the difference between it and pro motion.

No, I found out the issue. I have to disable Low Power Mode for ProMotion scrolling to go beyond 60fps in Quartz Debug. I had Low Power Mode enabled for some reason.

And since Quartz Debug doesn't lie, the fact is that scrolling is not 120Hz. It's close but not quite. It's around 90-110fps for the most part. Also it does drop to 60fps then ramps up only during scrolling. All Safari animations (including TestUFO) are still locked to 60fps or lower.

I haven't installed the beta yet but I got the safari preview one and its 15.4 so ahead and its the exact same same as macOS 12.1 so unless macOS 12.2 with safari 15.3 has something the preview one 15.4 has its not improved at all...

MacOS may have features that affect this besides what are in Safari/Safari Technical Preview.
