I’d imagine that retrofitting an existing controller based game is probably the wrong approach. I’m not a gamer but is there current a VR resident evil version on other platforms?

Also, I fully expect 3rd party motion controllers down the road. You can already use console controllers…
I think it is only PSVR2 and PC right now. I don't think they made a version for the Quest.

You have no idea what the AVP is capable of in terms on hand tracking. Nobody does yet, but they’ve gone out of their way to make hand tracking based on a virtual representation of the actual bone structure of your hands and maps the tracking to that.

It’s definitely going to be the best hand tracking on the market, as merely 6 months ago the forums were full of VR people saying THIS (hand tracking for fruit ninja) simply wasn’t going to be possible because the VR headsets can’t do it.
I didn't say that the Vision Pro wouldn't have the best hand and eye tracking experience. My point is that gaming is not a "key feature" when hand tracking alone doesn't cover all types of games. A lot of games need motion controllers, especially if you don't have enough physical space to move around a lot. Analog sticks are crucial in that case.

Yes I have used VR headsets and I would wait until we see this thing in action before making judgements. One of the parts I hate about VR is having to hold something to control the headset.
For general control, navigation, productivity, etc. hand tracking is fine. I have my Quest set to automatically switch to hand tracking when I set my controllers down. It's fine for some games and apps, but not the majority. The controllers weigh very little, especially the ones for Quest 3 and Pro. The added value of the additional control and tactile responses are huge in the immersive experience. Do you hate holding a controller for console games too...? Maybe if Apple decided to innovate in tactile motion gloves instead of the motion controllers I might be more on board with gaming being a "key feature" on the AVP. Hand tracking doesn't cover everything when it comes to gaming.

Oh this golf game would be pretty awesome in VR.

The issue is you are comparing the Quest to VP. The VP should have significantly better controls, but we will not know for sure until devs and consumers use the device.

Again, I'm talking about gaming specifically so of course I'm going to compare it to the Quest. My whole point is that gaming is NOT a "key feature" of Vision Pro when they are not going to offer compatibility with motion controllers. Hand tracking doesn't work for all games.
