It would be worth buying a Wii for this game, let alone buying the game itself.:D

Having never played a Brawl game before and watching the hype build on every gaming site on the 'net I was eager for this to come out. Have to say, I'm not all that impressed. After a few matches it got boring.
Oh well, at least my son likes it.

Not a hater exactly. More like the game was way overhyped and doesn't live up to my lofty and perhaps unrealistic expectations. Maybe I need more time with it, or maybe I need to play with someone older than my 6yo son.:) Not much strategy to be had in those matches.;)

I've found it goes a little fast for me and I often lose where my guy is. Although its much easier Online since it plays at about 2 fps.

Well any good fighter involves the competition and mind games. It won't be very fun without it.

Anyone know if it's worth buying the LAN adapter for less lag?

How fast is your internet connection? Wireless B and G bandwidths exceed the typical 3-6 Mb/s connection that most DSL/Cable Modems offer so your bottleneck is usually not your wireless unless you have a weak wireless signal limiting the reliability of your connection.

I have a very reliable 7 meg connection. I was playing last night with pretty noticeable lag late at night with no one else using the connection.

I am planning on going to gamestop this friday and picking up a lan adapter. Is there a way to check my signal strength on my wii? My macbook gets "full bars" but I've heard the receiver for the wii is pretty crappy.

Can we agree that if you've if you don't say pm me for a match that you've added everyone here?

Gah, UI really want to play, and I got my disc in the mail yesterday. Unfortunatly, my Wii is one of those that doesn't read the disc, so I sent it in last night (Thank goodness I live so close to a FedEx Terminal). Hopefully, I'll have it back early next week so I can actually play.

I'm pretty sure the lag comes from N's inability to run an internet service properly, and the way the game slows down for everyone if one person is lagging.. if you have a normally fast internet, I don't think a LAN adapter will help any.

I've read convincing evidence that servers are only used to get you hooked up w/ someone and that's it. It's peer to peer after that.

I am going to get one anyway but first I am going to try DMZ mode on my router (gulp) and that's supposed to make a big difference on your end of the lag.

www.smashboards.com/ff

to find matches. :D I've used it alot w/ much success.

Just a suggestion... if anyone wants to organize times for smashing with more than a few people, using the Doodle service can be a big help in seeing who's available when.
