Despite the stated holiday release, rumors are saying this may actually now be a summer release.

I'm very much interested in the Neo and Duo, this is great news. However i'm not sure when it will be available in the U.K

Specs are also starting to come out, the entry level will start with 6GB Ram and 64GB storage. There will be higher tiers. I'm wondering what the higher tier will max out at, with it being a Surface device i'm guessing around 512GB storage.

Looks like they are holding a virtual event on Wednesday for some people, rumored release date is August 24th. Should have a lot of details this week I am guessing.

I’m guessing pre-orders will start either this week or next week. I’m looking forward to seeing this, a Surface device that fits in your pocket is appealing!

Gah! if this pans out i might have to cancel my Note 20 ultra pre-order. I wasn’t expecting this until the end of the year.

Apparently Microsoft were ahead with the development both on software and hardware.

The Duo passed through the FCC around the last week in July.

We could also see a global launch, as the Duo has passed through the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Japan.

I definitely think the Duo will be out soon. If Microsoft are showing it off on Wednesday (12th) to their MVPs via a virtual event. They must be ready to announce it with possible pre-orders starting soon as well.

I get the excitement for a new type of phone especially when Microsoft have done so well on the Surface lineup, but I don't see how this device will be anything but a letdown.

It won't be cheap, it's running outdated specs almost everywhere (old soc, 6 GB ram, starting storage 64gb, not expandable storage, etc). But the most glaring issue...this is a dual screen device, neither of which are small, and is powered by a 3600 mAh battery?! That's smaller than the Pixel 4 xl. How is that going to result in anything but horrible battery life? The numbers just don't make sense.

I don't pretend to know much about specs, but I guess we will see what happens on Wednesday. More details are bound to come out before the Duo releases. I'm looking forward to it, not because of it being a phone (I still have my iPhone 11 Pro Max and will continue to use it) but because it's a Surface and there is pen support also.

I'm actually excited about this. I will order one if I'm remotely impressed by the reveal. I've been a surface fan for a long time.

I’m pretty excited for Duo as well. I’m not sure how much of a reveal there will be, they did unveil it at the October event last year.

It will be interesting to see what Microsoft say at the Wednesday MVP event, however I don’t think it’s an event for the consumers. Details may not come out straight away, I’m not sure what usually happens with Microsoft and their MVP events.

I think "reveal" was the wrong word to use. I meant once we see the actual product and have all the specs and stats I'll make up my mind.

Well....as a phone, that thing is HUGE. I dont see the draw or how it ould be used as a phone. Or is this more of a desk/office worker type phone to have? This device actualy confuses me.

Yeah, just announced by a known leaker on Twitter.

Yikes. I'm sure the hardware itself will be great but those specs at that price are rough and the battery is going to be miserable. It's their first shot at a device like this, so I'm sure it'll get better in the 2nd generation. I'm more looking forward to what they do from the software side. Hopefully they stay close to stock Android.

Yup at that $1400 price dead on arrival. For a dual screen screen device I'll wait for the Galaxy Fold 2 to mature with stylus support and jump on that. I'm actually impressed with Samsung Dex.

You could get 4 Pixel 4a’s, tape them all together and put Microsoft Launcher on it for that amount.

Honestly about what I expected price wise, was hoping for around 1200 though. Will wait and see more details tomorrow hopefully, but it appears to be overpriced a bit.

Seems like it's actually officially released announced already: https://www.windowscentral.com/surface-duo-announcement

I don't know how the price comes as a shocker. Sure the specs aren't top of the line, but this is a first gen dual screen device in a world where a one screen device can cost $1400, and the Z Fold costs $2000...

Personally I wouldn't have much use for this one but still following with interest.

Yeah I thought the price wasn't that bad to be honest. The Note 20 and S20 cost about the same for single screen.
