I tend to carry a number of lenses and the ones I carry depend on what I am shooting. Often something like 35, 85, 180. For gigs I tend to carry 50, 85, 180 and a ultra-wide. 20, 50 and 85 gets used a bit as a trio. Bag is currently packed for some interior shots and has 20, 28, 35, 85.

Nice bag of glass, my friend. Do you shoot a day with one lens or swap between the ones that are close in FL like the 28 and 35mm?

Something different to everyone else:D

I got a Ricoh GXR with 33mm f2.5 lens on an ASP-C sensor giving 50mm equivalent.

Also got Pentax Asahi SMC primes
200mm f4
50mm f1.4
28mm f3.5

My personal favourite at the moment is the Ricoh, it is the most interesting camera in my collection.

I have two primes:

Sigma 50mm f/1.4
Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens

I've been spoiled by my primes. The image quality and the speed far outweigh having to carry around all that glass. Granted, the only zooms I have are the 18-55mm kit (non IS) and the 10-20mm.

EF 200mm f/2.8L USM II

Would you mind sharing your opinion on this lens? I'm torn between this one and the 135mm f/2L for my next lens. I love portraits, and since I generally shoot outdoors, I have plenty of space to use either one.

My only prime is the Canon version of the Sigma 70mm F/2.8 EX DG Macro.

I use this whenever possible. It is fantastically sharp and very fast. Even wide open it is very sharp. Fantastic lens.

I have the the Mk1of this lens. Love it. But mind you 200mm for portraits is long, especially on a crop body. It's hard to really communicate with your 'model' anymore. It's more of a sniper type of lens, shoot from a distance. Leave the model undisturbed. Besides that, it's relatively small, black(!) and has fast focus.

Nikon 50mm 1.4 AF-S
Nikon 85mm 1.8 AF-D

LOVE both lenses and use them a lot. Hoping Nikon launch a 35mm 1.4 and a new 135 f2 (not that there is anything wrong with the old one from what I understand) soon, I just like AF-S! I would update the 85mm if Nikon release a new one of that too - I could be tempted to pay out for the 1.4 version now...

I use a 50 mm Nikkor f 1.8, but I want to get the new Nikkor 35 mm f 1.8. Those 50 mm are nice for the price, but for general purpose stuff I'm finding the viewing angle to narrow on my D300 with it's small DX sensor.

I used to use a Nikkor 85 f/1.8. Pretty good, but kinda boring in my opinion.

Now I'm 100% zoom (my nikkors are just that good), but I am feeling an itch for a Nikor DC optic (can't decide witch of the two, 105 or 135).

Nikkor 35mm f/1.8. It's my first and only prime lens. I have no regrets whatsoever. Next lens I'd like to buy is a Nikkor 10-24mm...but they aren't cheap!

I really didn't expect three pages of replies, honest. If I had three cameras (Nikon, Pentax, Canon) my lens bag would be a Ford F 150 truck. It would hold the following focal length lenses:
15mm, 20, 21, 24, 25, 28, 30, 35, 43, 45, 50, 55, 58, 60, 70, 77, 85, 100, 105, 135, 150, 180, 200, 300 and a 400.
24 lenses in all (to date).

The top lens is the 50 (29 users). Next is the 85 (10) and then a tie between the 35 and 28 (9). 100, 135 and 200 are the top telephotos (7 each).

Around $8,000 should do it for the most common primes only. Maybe next paycheck...;)

You forgot to factor in the cost of the bag:D

I have a Eddie Bauer F150 I would trade for a Minolta 85mm & 100mm macro.;)

Never quite sure
On D90:
10.5 mm f/2.8 DX
24 mm f/1.8 Sigma
85 mm f/1.8 D (just recently acquired)

I love the increased subject separation you can achieve compared to my other lenses:
18-70 3.5-4.5 DX
70-300 4.5-5.6 VR

But, I also like to pack at most two lenses on a day outing, and normally just one, so the choice of lens tends to not always be appropriate...which can be rather frustrating...

Prime
28mm F1.8 USM
50mm F1.8 MK2

Zoom
10-22 F3.5-5.6 USM
28-135 F3.5-5.6 IS USM

Most of the time I'm using my 10-22. After some experience in travel pictures I'm much more satisfied with the pictures I can get with that lens. Otherwise, in low light condition I'm likely to use my 28 if my 10-22 ain't sufficient. I used the 50 extensively in the past but not much anymore. It is still a nice lens but you need much faster shutter speed then the 28 to get sharp pictures.

Love my Primes

I shoot primes on my Olympus Pen EP-1 - I have loved rediscovering the beauty of some old OM glass with it.

Kit Lens 17mm Pancake 1:2,8 (Equal to a 35mm)

I have the following OM lenses too:
50mm 1.8 - my favorite
24mm 2.8 - very serviceable
50mm Auto Macro 3.5 (wonderful lens)
28mm - just starting to take this one on a test drive.
