Very true. I would expect at least a 10-15% bump in frame rates with the 550 and the 28 watt processor. Even then though, the game looked like crap at the settings I tested it at.... haha
[doublepost=1479952728][/doublepost]I have been able to play Call of Duty Modern Warfare (mac edition) at max settings 720p at a consistent 60 fps (estimated as I do not have a frame counter for mac)

I avoid all mac versions. They are typically trash compared tot he windows counter part sans the better controls with the touchpad. If that's the original modern warfare, you could probably max all settings at native resolution and it would still run on windows side.

Typically they are but I have found the modern warfare version to be pretty good. That said, windows side will likely be able to run it at 1080p without issue just because of better performance from direct x.
[doublepost=1479957383][/doublepost]So here is something cool! Dead Space 3 running at 1400x900 at high settings (minus AA and high quality shadows) gets 60-110 FPS depending on scene! That is amazing for an IGPU to me... Granted it is an old game but it is still a very good looking game. 1080p at medium (again minus AA) produces a consistent 60 FPS! The 1400x900 is the best looking of the two in my opinion.

Thanks for doing these benchmarks, greatly appreciated. Could anyone check whether CS GO can perform at over 100-120 FPS and at which settings?

Howdy,
Battlefield 1 in 720p on max or med. :)

I will have an answer for you tonight with the HD540! Just purchased this game for my gaming rig and will be trying it out along with the original titanfall and possibly titanfall 2 tonight on the nTB MBP

This is going to be my first retina macbook, but I remember that older versions often took a graphics hit when you ran them at odd scaled resolutions like 1400x900. Graphics seemed very blurry unless they were rendered at either 1280x800 or 2560x1600. Not sure if Apple's scaling tech has improved since then, but it's possible that running at other resolutions may have both a negative performance impact and negative visual impact.

Ok so origin is terrible when you want to move downloaded files from one computer to another. Could not get it to work so no battlefield/Titanfall yet. Did try out a few steam games though. Bioshock Infinite at 1200x800 on high settings was able to achieve about 40FPS with dips as low as 30 and highs as high as 60. Portal 2 on maxed settings at 1200x800 was able to hold a 60fps lock. I tried Doom but it simply refused to open so no results.

Better start the download tonight then, it should be ready by tomorrow.

Ill have to see what I can do to get a copy of overwatch. If it were free weekend id test it right now. Not really a fan.

There's a 40% off deal on Overwatch origin's edition right now for $34.99. Please test :) It's a great game :p

Ok bad new guys. I saw the 15" in person and ended up returning my 13" while the 15" is on order. I got a fully upgraded 460, so I will create a separate thread with those benchmarks. Thanks
