I'm seriously curious as to why those two colors are on clearance. Seems odd.
Well bad news guys. Stopped in to my local today and all of the midnight blue (only color they had and like a dozen of them) are gone from the shelves. I spoke with a sales clerk who said the stores have been "in transition" this week pulling clearance to make room for new items to be put out. Even had her check the bands in the case and anything listed on her hand held inventory device, which said "out of stock" now for them. I looked around the apple product aisles and the covers, a number of which were on the shelf on clearance, were also gone now. My store had an end cap in the back aisle that had 3rd party clearance stuff still, looked but no Apple, so if that's what you want you might still find but the day/s are numbered. Ended up with some cable clips for a few bucks. They did have Spreck and Belkin ipad covers for various models and Otter Box Defender series items on that clearnce end cap (all were half off retail on clearance). Really not much left though.
I now suspect the one location (large store) that Sunday had no bands on clearance had already pulled their clearance, probably becuse they had a larger staff. My smaller store just appeared to have one person working the area. Even the toys that were on clearance are now gone.
I saw a bunch of midnight blue bands, both sizes, on clearance at the Target in Germantown, MD today.
Wow. Apple should not allow this. That's 70% off, and sends a horrible message to customers who are otherwise paying $50 for the same bands elsewhere, and for colors that came out only 6 months ago, some of which still appear in current advertising. Add to that Target doesn't even accept Pay.
Can't speak for anyone else who purchased one, but I did notice my Vintage Rose band which looks brand new and was perfect installing, came in a box that had been opened. The sticker on the end was off or cut and I did notice there wasn't that thin translucent sheet inside that was in all my other new Apple Store purchased sport band boxes. I assume it was a return, maybe the person didn't like the color, so figured "non-new" bands could be marked down. From what I've read about the European CEX company that offers original Watches and bands at great discount, those are either returns or whatever and the discount depends on the condition.
Can anyone share the Target DPCI for the clearance bands?
EDIT: I see 057-03-4022 for Midnight Blue. Curious if anyone has picked up other 42mm (besides pink) at the $14 price.
People in this thread reported seeing white and black on clearance, as well. Its only the blue 38mm and 42 and the same for the pink....

Went to my local Target yesterday and they had the bands in stock however they were locked in the display case with no sales price indicated.
Today I visited the brickseek.com web site and entered the Target SKU for the 42mm Midnight Blue band (057-03-4022) and it showed 2 of them at the discounted $14.70 at my local Target. So I went back to the store and sure enough the bands were there and when scanned showed up for $14.70 even though they were not on the clearance rack or identified with the Target red sales price tag.
So YMMV.
wow huge thank you for that website!
i called one one of the next closest targets that has inventory and verified they had two 42mm midnight blue in stock left. i put them on hold until i can get there and grab them. wooooooot! if someone needs one, maybe ill sell one of them.
For how much?
My cost plus shipping. Not looking to make money on the deal, just help someone else who couldn't grab one at the clearance price that I was looking to get it for.
Couldn't track the midnight blue down myself. Only saw it available at like 2 locations in NJ, but they are far. You must be near there.

It's amazing how cheap they can offer these bands for and still make profit. They were originally marked down to $24.50, then reduced to $14.70. Guess this shows how high apples profit margin is on their products. Also, the inventory checking website is fairly accurate. I check the site again and it shows 0 inventory at the New Brunswick store where i just got these two bands.
If anyone wants to buy it or trade for another color, PM me.

just checked the inventory in NJ, no white or black in stock at the $14.70 prices, only the midnight blues.
The thing is, they are not making any profit marking them that low. They eventually just need to clear inventory in retail to make space for new items. Typically stuff at Target don't drop lower than 75% off, the next step they take is donate to goodwill with overstock items that nobody wants after 75% clearance markdown and nobody is interested thereafter. It's amazing how cheap they can offer these bands for and still make profit.
