I believe it is exclusive as it was pitched that way in the iPhone event. It is also tied to the camera control button on the 16 to launch the feature.
It seems odd two podcasters downloaded yesterday and got access to the playground within 5 minutes and it downloaded but now most (all) the rest of us seem hung and nothing amongst all my developer friends same issue so not sure if the podcasters got it early or they limited access rapidly or maybe lots of folks downloaded this beta and apple is overwhelmed at servers? I guess will have to wait not a crucial feature (everything else works in beta) but something interestesting and entertaining I wanted to use.
I was hoping to wake up to access but nope..
I can't help wondering how many of the people desperately trying the app every 5 minutes to see if they've got access yet are going to eventually get access, spend about 10 minutes using the features and then never use them again.

Technically the workaround is taking a picture and then go into your Photos and then invoke Siri/ChatGPT to ask what it is you're looking at. That's how I've been using it this morning with a 15 PM.
Clearly were meant to go on some sort of Pixar/adult swim quest to free the kitty from his bisexual lighting orb of sadness.
Having played around with it - sometimes Siri reds it but usually doesn’t - I’m not 100% sure what causes it
I am in Australia and have my iPhone set to Australia and my iPad set to US. Still nothing almost 24 hours later
I feel like it was influencers and media personal only at this point 😭
Seems to be the case I have not seen anyone here and on the Appleseed developers site I am part of we reported it as a bug 24 hours later and they have indicated that there are lots of reports (at top of my feedback) so it seems it is perhaps more than that also???
Respectfully disagree. It just “seems” that only the usual YouTube suspects got access while the rest of us, including a few developer friends of mine, wait. Now a day and half later and no sign of anyone not a YouTube cheering section getting access. To me the point of a beta is to….beta test. This, to me, screams of apple trying to get free PR by only granting those usual people access first.
Again I respect all opinions but they should have fully released 18.1 and held off on this if the whole point behind this 18.2 isn’t even available to most people.
And no I’m not renown for my patience. I’m getting tired of delays and rollouts and features not being ready. Not just with apple either
You don’t have to even take the photo just use Siri from the camera screen with what you want to ask about on screen. It can send a screenshot to ChatGPT too
It does seem that this is what is going on almost like they had it a bit before us and were let in and now that we beta testers got it we are waiting. I am moving on to other stuff now and will test/use what i can with 18.2 but I guess this is out how the heck can we test it if they do not let us in? Wonder if this one takes a lot of server time and they are gonna trickle down to us like overloading updates do (for hours not several days though) I actually had some uses for this feature but oh well its a first world problem for sure LOL.
I do not think anyone but the bloggers on YouTube got access to it I am a developer and no one on the developer forums has it either. Very strange rollout for 18.2 beta 1
Apple Intelligence is oozing out so slowly. Even when it's "released," it's only almost soon nearly get-ready, get-set, not-there-quite-yet, wait for it... wait for it.....
