I tried the last 2 things, that didnt work.

as soon as i remove the Ben profile, tethering disapeared.
VVM works right away,

then when i install ben profile again, VVM gone..

anyone else got any other ideas?

Tethering

Try the AT&T 6.0 ipcc; I think it's a modded 5.5/5.6 to enable tethering and APN editing. My VVM seems to be working fine

Will this work for me with HP? And...I have no idea what ipcc 6.O is or where to find it. Yep I'm green as grass with no high speed Internet where I live and sorely dissappointed about partial Internet on I Phone!

I had to run this process twice for some reason but it worked perfectly the second time.

Thanks!

dhlizard, did you try this method? Looks like they built a package. Personally, I've already bought MyWi, so I'm not going to risk blowing up my phone are rebuilding like you had to!

Yea, I tried it, and it does not disrupt VVM, but for whatever reason, my phone just does not like tethering ?????

I can enable tethering, get the popup, but absolutely no tethering happens, don't get the blue tethering indicators in the status bar.

Very crazy ??

This method worked best. The myWi crashed my phone and resulted in me restoring it.

To add to the sinful repo: If it doesn't work the first time, reset your network settings and reboot. It worked for me then.

BTW: VVM, MMS, and tethering all worked nicely with this repo.

I had to run it twice as well, but I thought it was something that I had done to mess up the process. Just un-installed the program rebooted installed again and rebooted and everything was fine and fully operational from the pics. :) The method posted above that I used still shows tethering data usage numbers. Pic attached.

I have the tethering data counter too, but I was wondering if it's possible to set it up like mywi where it shows how much you used during the current session in the top bar.

How do you have the carrier logo and the tethering data usage counter on a 3GS?

So I take it that all mentioned methods will require jail breaking? How else would you get access to cydia?
