Does MyWi 8.0 work for you're newly jailbroken phone?
I have MyWi 7. Can I update and it work on JB8.1?
As of this morning, the repo seems to be back up (repo.tetherme.net). My status:
--Yesterday I bought TetherMe 7.x on an iOS 7 phone (5s/Verizon). I then upgraded that phone to IOS 8 and JB.
--Today the beta repo above works again and I was able to install what I guess is the TetherMe 8 beta (without being prompted to give more money)
--I can connect to it with my MacBook, but my newly-clean-install and JB iPad Mini 2 keeps saying "unable to start personal hotspot" when I try to connect to the phone's hotspot. (Yes 'start'). Still trying some basic troubleshooting there.
Just reporting my results.

I'll put it this way for MyWi, I have had it for years and keep coming back to tetherme. MyWi just doesn't work as steadily for me as tetherme does. It drops connection a lot on my end and stops transferring data. Most of the issues were on iOS 7, but if I had to choose I would say go with tetherme. This is just my personal experience, but maybe MyWi is better this time.
MyWi 8.0 is working on my AT&T unlimited data iPad.
I went into mange account, installable purchases and clicked on MyWi. 8.0 came up and I installed it. I did not have to pay to update from MyWi 7 to 8.0.
How are you liking MyWi? As I mentioned above, I had NUMEROUS issues with it on iOS 7 and my 5s on Verizon. It was just annoying and tetherme worked flawlessly every time.
I installed Mywi also and no issues at all. Even previous years that I used it I never had a problem.
Great tethering solution and with tons of useful features and options.
Quoting myself: The problem seems to be that if the device has never encountered the hotspot before, it doesn't get prompted for a password and just fails to initiate the connection. So the solution is to add the SSID and WEP key manually. Maybe this has always been true and I just forgot.
Seems like I might try it again and see how well it works this time, considering I don't have to buy it again
One of the best features is the ability to adjust the power consumption! Can really ease the strain on the battery.I have not see this issue with MyWi.
One other benefit I noticed with MyWi is when I travel internationally and purchased an international data plan the data used is only counted when I'm using data directly on the iPad. (Web browsing, streaming, sending/receiving emails.) I notice it did not count data used from tethered devices.
I bought 800MB of international data. I setup the iPad with MyWi as a hotspot and used it for two weeks with my MacBook Pro and other devices connected to it. At the end of two weeks I still had 600MB of data left. So the GBs of data I used through MyWi was not counted against the international data allotment.
I purchased it on iOS 7. Then when I updated to 8 and jb it i added the tetherme repo which has tetherme for iOS 8. It then let's u install it free

I've had it running since Monday on my 6+ and it worked great. No crashing on me end even before the updated tetherme. You're like me, I just keep finding tweaks and apps I want and can't stop adding lol. Whole new device after being jailbroken

I actually bought 1GB/90 days of data for my iPad 2. $25! So glad that's over, for now anyway.
Now to try "Aloud". I really missed it too. I wonder if anybody here has tried it with a 6 yet?

Does tethering using Tetherme "hide" that fact from AT&T. The reason I'm asking is that they charge extra for Personal Hotspot if doing so. I'm paying enough for their services as it is.
I've used PDAnet before (when I was on iOS 7), and they have a feature that "hides" tethering from them. Unfortunately, PDA net for iOS 8 is still not available.

It doesn't hide it. Att is well know to call out illegal tethering.
They will charge you.
You could switch to verizon and use tetherme all you want. They could care less.
Some months I use 30gigs in just tethering.
I'm not sure if sprint monitors it.

Thanks. All aboard the upgrade train! Upgraded both my iDevices to 8.1, was a bit pissed off it made both of them stutter while scrolling a page, but a restart sorted that out.
Installed Win10 Tech Preview via VirtualBox on MBA, amazing how fast it went - a full install took about 5 minutes. Bit of a faff getting Win10 to capture USB input from the MBA, but worked it out in the end. (Close virtual OS, plug in iDevices, set up filters for iDevices in Virtualbox USB settings, unplug iDevices, restart Win10, wait for it to finish booting to dekstop, then plus in iDevices)
Jailbreaking went smoothly via Pangu in Win10 in VirtualBox. Now to get my MBA upgraded to Yosemite...
Can't get it to work
So I've had TetherMe for years. I was happy to see it was available right before I left for vacation. Just got back this morning.
When I start Personal Hotspot, I can connect my MBP to it as the blue tethering bar is active. However, when I try to load a webpage, nothing happens.

I got a nastygram from AT&T about 18 months ago about supposed "tethering activities". Only thing I can figure out is that they caught that I had my laptop tethered a couple of times and picked up on the non-mobile browser user agent. I had been tethering almost exclusively to my iPad for about 18 months before that.
After cooling it for a couple of weeks, I went back to tethering my iPad only and thus far AT&T has been oblivious to it.
Is your carrier Verizon on your 6+? I am getting an iPhone 6 and I don't want to pay the extra tethering fee. Did you have to pay for the tethering plan and then unsubscribe or did you just pay for a 2 year contract without data sharing?

I had the same problem? how did you fix? it was working before then I tried mywi and it stop working? I even did factory restore and then re-jailbreak
