I just got a letter from ATT asking me to stop tethering
I do have the unlimited plan and my last months usage was 2gb
I exclusively use tetherme

Did anyone else get detected? Did I do something that let them detect my tethering?

Thanks

Was it a letter mailed to you or text or email.
Just curious to see what they told you on that.
Did they threaten to take your unlimited plan away?
Can you post a pic?

I did this with my iPad 3 back in the day.

Since the iPad 3 iPads always offered hotspot for free for some reason when you sim swapped. I'm not sure why Verizon doesn't regulate iPad hotspot but that's how it's been. This is not an iOS 8 feature.

Yes, this is true. On iPads, they offer Hotspot. On iPhones, they don't. This is because they "assume" when you buy an iPad, you'll use the SIM that comes with it and activate that one which costs.

When I had a cell iPad, and I saw it work like this but not on iPhones, I complained to the FCC about it. And that was VZW's point.

Attaching the pic of the letter. I have been tethering for almost 6 years now. Never have been a big data user the most I probably used was 2GB per month. I am on iPhone 6 since release day. Started using tetherme the day it was released for ios 8.

Wondering if we need to change some settings to be undetected.
