What happens when you don't use all the 250MB in 30 days? Does it keep going beyond 30 days until you use it all up? Or will AT&T ask you to update your data plan to another 250MB or unlimited? If you opt for another 250MB, would your unused MB be added?
I ask this because I use Wi-Fi most of the time and have my 3G off until needed.

If you do not use it up it will not rollover. They will charge you for another 250MB when your 30 days are up unless you remember to either cancel or opt for the unlimited plan.

With what I consider normal usage (no video streaming etc.) I burned thru the 250MB limit in two days flat.

I find 250mb a month for my iPad to be working so far since my usage of 3g is very limited.

I have wifi most of the day at work and home. During breaks and car rides (when not driving) or weekend outings is when I'm finding myself using 3g and even then, I'm not streaming music or videos, rather surfing the net and checking out my social network platforms.

I think the price for 250mb is rather stupid though, especially if unlimited is twice the price.

I'd be a lot happier at $10 bucks or less for 250mb.

Paying by the megabyte is retarded. I won't ever join a plan that caps like that. Even the "Unlimited data plans" from cell providers for you to use on your laptop usually cap at 5gb. Stupid.

I can fart a gigabyte out.
You should see.

I yearn.. no .. I long for the day when everyone has true unlimited plans and the streets are paved with gold.

Actually 5gb is enough. Just .. freaking MEGABYTES. Come on now. ahhaha I would hit 250 megs in like an hour.

Not everyone is like you.

I'm a pretty hardcore geek that likes having internet-on-the-go... however, I've had the 3G since launch day and have only used about 25mb.

I live in NY. WiFi is EVERYWHERE. Free, open WiFi. Our local cable provider is also working to blanket Long Island with free WiFi for it's customers. I can even get WiFi down at the beach.

So I started with the lowest plan. I'm not saying I won't reach the limit... I might. But keep in mind not EVERYONE needs 3G all the time.

Yes you are. It's prepaid.

Yes you are :(

Once you use the 250MB you have a choice to do another 250MB at $15 or go for the unlimited plan at $30 for the next 30 days....

Thanks for the responses. It would have been great if they only charged you an additional $15 for unlimited after you use the original 250mb and you only got the unlimited for the remaining days, but I guess that's too good to be true.

I use 700-1500 MB on my iPhone and I don't do much on that. I suspect an iPad would pull more :p

It's a question that varies by individual. It depends on how many places you go have wifi, what you would use 3G for, etc. If you only occasionally use network access when you don't have wifi, then 250MB is more than enough.

And for those complaining about the price, $29.99 for a month of unlimited data is more than fair and better than you'll get anywhere else. $14.99 for 250MB is a little over-priced, but it's only $15 and you're not signing a contract. If you buy that plan and use it up quickly, lesson learned, and it wasn't all that expensive of a lesson in the long run.
