Ironic isn't it that West Ham sell their best player and start off having one of the best starts to the season they have ever had lol

...and the summer EPL window closes for another year. With EPL clubs splashing £2.36bn on transfers.

City funny enough have probably had the best window; Nunes, Gvardiol, Doku, Kovacic are all good signings. Replaced in all the areas weakened.

Villa and West Ham have also done really well.

Chelsea...well...who knows. I find it weird they've spent £1bn and are still unlikely to challenge the title. Because to me they still need 3 top class players.
Thiago Silva is still their best defender and Haaland scored more goals than their entire squad. And i'm still not sure where the goals will come from.
So...yeah...weird
Lukaku rescued by Mourinho

Liverpool all of a sudden have a new look midfield. But defensively look...bare.

Utd have made decent efforts but some uncertainties remain re-Hojlund, Amrabat, and off-pitch antics

Spurs on the way with decent additions. But lots of excess fat to trim. And need to replace Son eventually.

Steve Cooper now has to deliver since he's been backed heavily.

I fear for Luton, Everton, Wolves, and Bournemouth.

Greenwood was always gonna find a club whether people liked it or not.
Charges dropped, and is 21yr old with talent. Someone was bound to pick him up.
Ironic that it was a spanish club given the current climate.

It wasn’t what I thought would happen. But JWP has done really well for us. Bowen has started well too.

I think we will struggle a bit once we are playing Europa League games as well.
But until then I’m enjoying it!

well well well, looks like Man United with the initial assistance of the UK media has made fools of everyone because Mason Greenwood has done what was said, is leaving United but on LOAN!!!, yes on LOAN. He is therefore still a paid employee of the club. So when United released their statement saying they have both come to a mutual agreement that he will leave the club, people naturally assumed that mean he would be physically leaving the club, walking out the door not to return but nope, seems the club and the media have been playing very loosely with the word 'leaving' because when someone say's they are leaving their employer that tends to me they are physically leaving their place of employment to start new somewhere else which means all connections to the employer are cut but nope, this has not happened with United and Greenwood. According to the linked news article, the club have LOANED him out for the season to Getafe. This means Greenwood is still employed at United which means the club did not terminate his contract when they said he was leaving the club.

He has left the club alright but left on a season load. So it shows that after all of United's investigation they could not find a way to terminate his contract OR did not want to terminate his contract because remember, it was alleged that higher up's in the club did not want Greenwood to go. So with a play on words, leaving the club does not mean termination of employment, leaving the club means going out on loan. The club is an utter disgrace.

To me it is clear what they are doing. They cannot find a legal way to terminate his contract so they are going to loan him out to clubs until his contract expires in 2025 and when he is close to the end of his contract, they will try and sell him and if they don't, he will leave on a free.

United's dealing with Greenwood is just as bad with how the Spanish FA have dealt with Luis Rubiales

oh and notice in the article it quotes a statement from United saying that will continue their support of Greenwood and his family during this period of transition. Just goes to show that the club still feel Greenwood has done no wrong.

Fulham unlucky

Spurs keep marching

Kompany has some serious work to do. His team have simply not ascended to EPL level. Granted they've had tough fixtures.

Thomas Partey is apparently set for long spell out after picking up and injury in training

Meanwhile Bellingham scores the winner against Getafe. Camavingha, Tchouameni, Bellingham is quite the formidable midfield. And Mbappe will join that team next summer.

Very unfortunate (worth noting is that the statement seems to have come from the Ghanaian FA, rather than from Arsenal).

However, Thomas Partey, while an excellent player (and we miss him when he is not playing), also seems to be somewhat prone to injury.

So, Jurrien Timber out injured, and now, Partey out; not good at all.

Last season, while the injury to Gabriel Jesus (at the World Cup) received much coverage, at the time, we were actually able to compensate for that; what really did for us was the injury to Saliba.

Apparently both Rubiales and Greenwood are ‘victims.’

As for Gravenberch, the price seems high but the market is inflated. You don’t get top half starters for 10 million anymore. Few premier league clubs are getting ‘bargains’ on anybody.

No surprises today in the results. Chelsea remain all over the place. Sheffield United and Everton drew their six-pointer…Newcastle’s loss is the closest thing to a surprise. Spurs seem fine without Kane so far…

Lovely to see Newcastle defeated (so comprehensively) by Brighton.

3 points in 4 games for Howe, and he has to sit with it for 2 weeks. Tonali showing he can sometimes go missing in games. Gordon too.
If they keep playing like this they will struggle and Howe might get binned.

Curious the market value of Mitoma, Ferguson, and March.

Question with Spurs is was having Kane in the team holding others back because they do not seem to be worse without him.

Think its more Ange giving the players more freedom and responsibility to play vs the last 2 managers restricting their freedom and style.

Howe was only ever going to be a ‘starter’ manager for this ‘project.’ He’s totally expendable.

United sending Greenwood on loan at this time was the only thing that was ever going to happen. No club anywhere was going to buy him outright after sitting out for a season and a half. Hopefully he does relatively well in Spain and someone buys him permanently.

Reguilon was previously targeted by United, but Spurs outbid them and United signed Alex Telles instead. Safe to say neither one of those transfers worked out, but I think Reguilon is the better player.

Now rumors swirling that the Glazers are pulling United off the market, with their fever dream valuation of the club soaring to £10 billion.

It’s a very unsatisfactory move that is unlikely to please anyone. But I agree that it’s probably the quickest way to get him ‘out’ of the club, though their statement of ‘support’ demonstrates the club’s continued tone-deafness.

Madness. The inflation of ‘value’ in the sport does make the numbers kind of meaningless anymore, but surely even in this crazy world those numbers are truly insane…
