The All New HTC One (M8)

So the HTC M8 release shouldn't be too far from now so lets have a thread for all discussions concerning the M8.

Specs according to @evleaks:
Snapdragon MSM8974, 5" 1080p display, 2GB RAM, UltraPixel rear / 2.1MP front cams, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac, KK, Sense 6.0

It better have a better camera. That's the only thing I can say from the main negative of its forebare. I'm not convinced about the two cameras on the back from those rumors.

Just please give me 1 really good camera that I can actually take photos that can be blown up and printed out.

Not two cameras that will give me an ok shot for facebook....

Other than that I never had issues with speed performance or software on last years HTC One.

Agreed. My only complaint about my HTC One is the camera. Everything else is wonderful.

Amen, brother. Loved everything about the M7 except the quality of photos I got out of the "Ultra Pixel" camera. Fingers crossed.

Very very "curious" that this image gets leaked one day later (or two) after the press invites for the SGS5...........

Obviously HTC is behind this leak. They won't announce the M8 at MWC so they do this leak...

That dual camera thing worries me. Maybe its the fingerprint scanner or a massive ir blaster with the power button moved to the side?

Hope they move the power button from top to side. It's a tall phone to begin with.

The new leaked pictures of the HTC M8 look... awesome.

It looks great in black with the thin bezels and on screen buttons.

If that's the true look (which I do believe) then I could consider buying it, but they also say the dual camera picture is fake (HTC executive said so in Twitter) and that the new UltraPixel will be 5 megapixel.

Biggest rumors are the expandible storage. That was the most common criticism of the device. Looking forward to hearing an annoucement on this thing. Will decide whether I jump ship from my 4S or not.

TechnoBuffalo actually had a pretty good article on what the dual camera may be. They were talking a dual lens camera that Toshiba had been showing off at CES that would basically be a 5 ultra pixel camera, but that it would offer a feature where you can change the focus after you take the picture. Seems interesting if true.

Any idea on where the power/sleep button is going to be positioned? The position of the sleep button on last year's model was the reason I returned it and got an s4.

If they added on sd card on max why wouldn't they on the new one? I think removable batteries are a must on smart phones now.. Elite ones anyway

I personally think removable batteries should be a thing of the past. Even when I did own phones with removable batteries, I don't remember ever needing to carry a spare? Obviously I am sure there are people out there that do (when trekking, camping etc), but in this day and age I would have thought investment in better battery technology and built in battery sources should be what is focussed on. What is an elite phone anyway? Is that another word for the flagship devices manufacturers promote? If mine is considered elite (I don't care either way really), I'm yet to need a spare battery. I don't need the extra bulk.

When my battery goes it goes..I don’t need to worry about not using it because I know I don’t have the battery. Thats the big problem I had with my iphone. With my note 3 I can use my phone as much as I want without worrying about what my battery % is. The note 3 has very good battery life anyway but I still use a spare when I need it. No phones will last as long as really heavy users like..If a phone lasts a day with good screen time thats good enough but you always need an option.
