That reminded me of Anchor Man, 'I'm kind of a big deal, I get a lot of notifications' lol :p

Just kidding mate, seriously I think if people need a spare battery then fine. :)

I think it’s just nice to have just incase, alot of people usage are totally different and depend on what you are doing that day. My problem is I get my notifications from twitter where I follow like 10 people so it can get out of control sometimes.

That looks great might actually switch back from the Nexus 5 to HTC One 2 if this is the real design.

I used a captivate, gs3, and now using a
gs4. Never bought or used an SD card (its a phone, 5 inches isn't big enough for a movie, not for me), never used a spare battery or extended battery.

And know tons more who don't.

Let's be honest, HTC isn't failing because of SD card or removable batteries. If so apple would be wiped out two years ago. They are losing because in the mind of the average Joe, they are not the mighty iPhone competitor like the galaxy is. No ads mocking iPhone users in lines, no "something is big" ads either, no air bloat to show off.

The only reason I picked a gs4 over the one was their stupid ultra pixel cam. If they had even put the cam from HTC one x, I still would have bought the one over gs4.

Is it weird that I hope they keep the IR-blaster?

It was kind of cool...

What did/would you use it for?

Watching TV & Set Top Box etc... its tv programme guide too is great and makes it easy to borrows what's coming on and set reminders. Having everything accessible from on device rather than reaching for multiple remotes.

On screen buttons... Finally!

I don't like on screen buttons :(

That being said.... as long as they sort out the camera I would go back to HTC (though I'm not optimistic about that. A 5 ultra pixel camera is still too little when 20MP cameras with OIS will be all the push this year).

I really hope every phone gets an IR blaster this year. It's very nice to be able to control everything from one device.

Glad im not the only one, I think that they waste screen space and make using the camera app more difficult.

Yep that's how I feel about them. Really dislike them.

Much prefer if there is going to be 'no' physical buttons ' then truly optimise your OS & ALL software that runs on it to use gestures instead (like BB10). Hate how most games and things have a massive waste of onscreen space when on screen buttons are enabled, and going on my experience of my Nexus 7 2013 - very few games are optimised to hide on screen buttons.

Hopefully it's got at least an 8MP camera with a large aperture lens. Otherwise, the HTC One was pretty great, so this would be a welcome upgrade.

For all the criticism HTC One got for the power button being awkwardly placed, HTC has usually put it before on the top left. And I do like the "useless" HTC watermark on the front which looks classy which something the Butterfly S doesn't have. I like HTC branding their name on both sides. I also do like the two-capacitive button layout. If I miss the multi-task button so much, then I have Notification Toggles to bring it back or press the home button twice. I never found any real use for that multi-task button. The One+ eliminates that cool HTC watermark and brings the three on-screen buttons and transparent dock which I generally don't prefer.

Update from the One to One+ is like from Xperia Z to Z1. And if last year's One couldn't save HTC, would the successor which is more of the same do anything more differently? Even 5-7M sold is nothing compared to the likes of Apple and Samsung weekend sales or preorders. Sony Xperia Z sold over 10M and Sony isnt a top 3 OEM right now.

Any phone sporting a screen 4.7" or larger should not have the wake button on the top. I believe HTC is the only OEM who has done this. It's illogical. Unless you have large hands it's borderline impossible to wake your phone and then not have to shift your hand down to use your phone. Hence why just about every OEM places their wake/power button on the right edge when the screen hits 4.7" or larger.

On my HTC First it's less of an issue because the device itself is much smaller. Even in this case I would have preferred a right side power/wake button.

Evleaks has tweeted that the HTC Mini M8 will have a MicroSD card slot. I believe that means the HTC One M8 will undoubtedly have the same. So we can pencil in on-screen buttons and an SD card slot for the M8. That's a step in the direction IMO. If they could lift the side power button from the One Max and place it on the M8 that would be huge. I personally would never consider a 4.7" or larger phone with a power/wake button on the top. I realize not everyone feels this way.

----------

HTC m8 mini specs are reportedly having a 13mp rear camera?

Evleaks says it's going to be a 13 MP rear shooter on the Mini. I'm guessing the M8 One will be the same.

I'm going to agree that the power button on top of the M7 was an awful idea. I had to uncomfortably shift my hand and adjust my reach to hit it when holding the phone one handed. Fortunately, GravityBox has the option to wake via volume rocker - one of the reasons I didn't get rid of the phone sooner than I did.

Apparently this is Sense 6 on the M8.

Looks like there's more evidence pointing towards a dual camera setup...

http://pocketnow.com/2014/02/09/htc-m8-dual-cameras:confused:

Notice the different lense sizes - maybe for 2 focal lengths as rumoured?

At the bottom, they are also showing the on screen buttons, which I hope those pictures arent real because If you look, they show the HTC logo underneath the screen, which would mean it doesn't go to the edge which I am not a fan of.
