I don't like it, too big looks Biggers than the s4. Camera blows but I like the extreme battery saver feature we need a app that does the same.

I don't like the s5 either so I'll keep my s4.

I really like the new redesign and am thinking strongly about picking this up instead of the LG G Flex that I was thinking about.

It looks very interesting to me as well. I am going to check it out in person later today. I want to see it and feel it and snap a photo before I pass judgment.

Ugh, just about every major review site is slamming the camera on the new One. Disappointed. :(

I'm quite pleased with the new HTC One M8, although the biggest disappointment is the lack of real camera improvements.

Although the camera on the previous-gen HTC One was still a very good camera, keeping essentially the same camera in the M8 is a real disappointment when the standard camera resolutions for flagship/high-end devices are much higher than 4MP. While the newly added camera software features are very good and useful, the (camera) hardware lets it down.

Overall though, IMO, the design is definitely one of the best designs I have ever seen for a mobile phone, just like it's predecessor. That's one thing that HTC have got right for sure.

I was seriously considering ditching my 5S, but the camera has held me back. :(

Yeah I prefer the design of last years One better. This phone is has more metal, but the more rounded design and brushed metal don't give it that premium look & feel. Also it's a shame the overall size of the device had to get bigger. To me once you're getting close to 5" the phone becomes too big. That's why I'm hoping the new iPhone will be in the 4.5-4.7" range.

I think HTC sort of felt pressured to increase the screen size, especially since Samsung have gone ape crazy pushing out phones with 5"+ screen sizes left right and centre.

Verge, impressed with everything but the camera

I love the One’s camera interface, I love what it lets me do with my photos. I just don’t like most of the photos I take. The UltraPixel sensor sees remarkably well in the dark, able to capture a usable picture in virtually any situation, but my praise for the One’s pictures rarely goes beyond "usable" in any situation. Photos are mushy and soft, as if nothing’s ever quite in focus. Even the 5-megapixel front-facing camera, the ultimate selfie machine, is better in a lot of situations. And it has higher resolution than the rear camera, which makes no sense to me. The new One does do far better than last year’s camera, which took almost hilariously bad photos in spots — color depth is particularly improved — but this is not a good camera. I’d rather use the iPhone 5S, any of a number of Nokia phones, or even the Galaxy S4 or Nexus 5. They don’t do as many wacky things (well, the S4 does), but they take good pictures. I’m in the business of taking good pictures.

A pattern in the reviews if following now it seems. :(

What's worse is that we all saw it coming - despite hoping for better :(:(

Appears to be in stock in stores on Friday

Which stores ? UK I assume.

I don't care much for the camera.. My main concern is size. If it's as hard to use as the Z2 or even Z1 then this is a no buy for sure.. Although I hope it's easier than that because other than that, this phone has everything I want in a phone.

I am not worried about the camera because anything will take better photos than the crappy Note 2 photos that I have right now.

If you get the chance, share your experience. I'd be interested to hear your opinion (first impressions).

Yeah, especially if you've ever used a Z1 or a Nexus 5. Would love to hear how the M8 handles in comparison to those devices.

I had a Nexus 5 for a while.....I will try to take a couple of photos with my S4 and the M8 and see how they compare. Later tonight I will post them here...unless someone else actually buys one first and posts pics for us.....

Have you seen this real life pic from the M8?

The reviewer is displaying the Selective Focus - actually looks rather good to me!

Of course; all the best people are ;)

Again its a great social media share snap. I'd like to see that stretched put on a 27" desktop and see if it holds up :)

I just tweeted her to ask if she thinks it will be more than a social media snapper?

I can compare sizes using PhoneArena's phone size comparisons, I am more interested to know how those phones feel in hand and which ones are easier to use with one hand relative to the other... Here's hoping the curved design makes it as easy to use as at least the Nexus 5.

Bummer the camera is so lacking. If Apple doesn't offer a larger screen on the next iPhone this is the one phone that could have lured me away.

I'm interested in getting it. Really just to hold me over until the new iPhone comes out later this year. The T-Mobile doesn't get it until April

If the picture quality is improved, this might get a pass.

I hate how the shutter is so slow on my GS4.

Just read her response to your tweet--doesn't exactly answer your question.

Lol. Was thinking the same. Its almost like a HTC prepared response..I'm getting sick of them throwing up the megapixel myth response.

We all know a decent lens is just as important, but that doesn't negate a fact that more pixels (with a decent lens) is better than less pixels regardless.....

Def. Its €600 here no contract. With a Lumia 1520 and a Google Edition S4 in my possesion currently I'm in no rush...

That's quite pricey HTC should of lowered the price a bit, its probably one of the reasons why the first one didn't do that well.
