Similar experience with my iPhone 11, where standby battery looks quite good (1-2% overnight), however browsing safari easily made the back phone warm. This rarely happened back in 14.8.1.iOS 15.3.1 killing the battery!
Also i noticed that if i dont use the phone for few hours the battery percentage not going down, but as soon as i open the phone and using random app its dropping easily 10% in less then a minute… hopefully the next update will fix this.
No. I noted that at #117.Are you using the Optimized Battery Charging option?
If it were me, I would contact Apple Care to get the device or battery replaced. So, at last, there has been a change in behaviour:

The overnight gaps are a mystery, but at least the battery isn't draining. The only change I made was to delete a Reminder at 22:00 – there are now zero active Reminders. The result, so far, is 28% drain after ~36 hours, which is similar to what I was getting on the final iOS 14. That said, I currently have most things turned off: all Location process, Mobile Data, and so on.
Try 15.4. If it's related it might be fixed with the update. Keep us posted! So, at last, there has been a change in behaviour:

You don’t use WiFi?So, the result of this is interesting:

69%-65% from 08:00 to 19:00 by switching off Mobile Data (no other changes). This is similar to the result of switching on Airplane Mode (see above), so I'll leave it overnight to see whether the massive drain while I'm sleeping occurs again.
If you are on WiFi why would your phone be using mobile data?I always leave WiFi on.
I wouldn't expect it to. In the example you quote, which was ages ago in the scheme of things, I was trying to isolate the possible cause of the battery drain. Mobile data was just one of those things. If you are on WiFi why would your phone be using mobile data?
I will do. I want to see if it holds up first. Then I'll need to reverse it and see if the old behaviour returns.Would you mind sharing what you changed?
That is still a pretty heavy battery drain. I see maybe 5% at most, many times at 0% over night drain. Have you tried doing a fresh install of iOS and setup as a new device. I hope you resolve the issue because it is not fun figuring out how to solve these issues.Looking good. Steady power decline overnight, although why it declines at all is a mystery, since it flatlines after wake-up Still, shouldn't grumble:

This, I think, is the core problem: the lack of diagnostics tools, or pretty much any way to hunt down root causes. I understand Apple's reluctance to open the barn doors, so to speak, but there is a middle ground. There is clearly far more complexity in Apple's ecosystem that a decade ago. I don't believe they have adapted to that at all well – if at all – from the customer's perspective.A issue I had since iOS 12 was the case where whenever I connected my phone to CarPlay, a random music song would start playing. It drove me nuts because it would have the headhunt turn on and play the music through the car system. It would startle me at times because the volume level was where it was last and if I had forgot to lower the volume, I would get this loud blast of music. I spent iOS 12, iOS 13, and iOS 14 trying to find a solution. With iOS 15 I still had that issue. But I happen chanced upon a Apple senior advisor who put me on hold, come back on the phone with me and told me to try deleting the Music app off my phone and reinstall a new version from the iOS App Store. And it resolved the issue. I would have never thought the culprit was the Music app. I thought it was iOS that was the issue. I have to tell what a relief it was for me to find a solution to the issue.
You might want to consider setting up your device as new and see how the battery life is as a new device. See how it is overnight as a new device. Just a thought. And here we are 24 hours later… and it's all gone to hell:

Anyway, I'm done with this. Instead of charging every 4 days with iOS14, I'll have to charge every 2 days with iOS15. That's ridiculous for a device I barely use. By comparison, my 6½ year-old iPad Air ("stuck" on iOS12) retains charge for weeks (currently on 82%, last charged 15 March – obvs. it's not doing phone things).
I doubt I'll be buying another Apple phone. Apple hardware is great, and their software used to be, but it seems to be in terminal decline. I can justify paying the Apple tax when hardware and software are working well together, but it makes no sense when they don't. Apple is a closed system, a walled garden, it has no excuse for not being able to make everything work. And when something is broken, they should fix it and be proud of that.
