Did anyone try to connect the iPhone to Xcode and use its tools to see what process used how much CPU time? And try to read a bit into the console logs? I know it's like looking for a needle in a haystack but it could be a start.
Too much hassle for me, tbh. Obviously the phone should not be doing this… as it didn't on iOS 14. It's frustrating that the device is so locked down that there's no way to diagnose the problem.hii i have something maybe you want to try...
before i go to sleep, i charge the iphone like 10% or more then i unplugged it from charge and leave it...
and the battery hold its charge and not decrease like 5 hour straight... after that its decrease again 1% per hour..
hope the ios 15.4 fix this issue... i have read many about this issue, it looks like this issue came from ios 14.5..Too much hassle for me, tbh. Yes, that's the plan. I needed to see the result of the recover update first, which is now clear.I know it is a hassle but since you are still having the issue, have you thought that maybe it is time to do a clean install without using a backup? I know we all hate doing this but given the issues that you continue to have with the battery, it might not be a bad idea. Of course with 15.4 right around the corner, it would make sense to hold off for now with the restore but if 15.4 doesn't fix it, that is probably what I would do.
Okay, make sure that you make a full encrypted backup on your computer first though. That way, if you still have the issue, you can always go back to your backup. When it comes to icloud, unless you specifically disable the "Online backup" once restored, it will overwrite your old backup with a new one. The PC or Mac is best method for this purpose.Yes, that's the plan. I needed to see the result of the recover update first, which is now clear.
Yes it should: iOS 15.4: CSAM only scans when charging your device.hope the ios 15.4 fix this issue... i have read many about this issue, it looks like this issue came from ios 14.5..
but not all device have this issue after updating...
Okay, so phone drained more rapidly overnight, but not as much as it has been, and it's now sitting at 41% after 2½ days (since fully charged).

I find it weird that significantly more battery is used overnight than during the day. I would like to know why.
It is not normal but looking at the graph, it was whatsapp that killed the battery. I would first try disabling background app refresh for the app(Despite it should already be off due to low power.) If that does not help, maybe remove the app and see what happens. It could be a bug in their app, or the fact that Zuckerberg could be spying.Hi all … i want to ask something
Is this a normal battery discharge with a usage like this?
Agreed, i knew something was wrong with my xs.. i think thats not normal too…It is not normal but looking at the graph, it was whatsapp that killed the battery. Do you know the battery health percent? I know if it gets to a certain point, it could be an issue.Agreed, i knew something was wrong with my xs.. i think thats not normal too…
the battery still new.. 98% health... i replace the battery when on 84% health because of this drain issue that i though probably the battery gets old.. but i think i'm wrong.. now i don't know what issue my phone has, its just discharge the battery at faster rate ?Do you know the battery health percent? I know if it gets to a certain point, it could be an issue.
That seems like a calibration issue. Have you tried completely draining your battery and charging it back to 100% without using it, even unlocking?
Hard not to agree. It's been a suspicion for a while. More evidence:That seems like a calibration issue. Have you tried completely draining your battery and charging it back to 100% without using it, even unlocking?
Be sure to charge it back up with a 5W charger after it’s been completely drained. And put it in LP mode when it’s at 3% or so so it could be completely drained. Do not even unlock the iPhone till it’s reached 100% and leave it be for another half hour.
Well, I only have one charger, so that'll have to do. I've no idea what wattage it is.Be sure to charge it back up with a 5W charger after it’s been completely drained. Repeat the process one more time. Post back with results.
LP is Low Power Mode. You can tap on the screen and tell by the battery icon. Just leave it for a bit longer after it looks fully charged as iOS tends to show 100% before it actually is completely charged.Well, I only have one charger, so that'll have to do. I've no idea what wattage it is.
I don't know what "LP mode" is.
It's at 5% now – it started its 22:00 drain as usual after no drain all day, as shown above – and I'm going to bed!
I'm not clear how I can guarantee it's charged to 100% without unlocking it. Nevertheless, I presume it will fully discharge overnight, and will charge for six hours, which will be ample.
My understanding is that since iOS 14.5 battery calibration is "automatic". Presuming that's what's out of kilter here, it's bonkers there is no way to override this "automation".
I'm trying hard not to rant about the appalling decline of Apple's software over the past few years, but it is really quite dreadful now.
