Aesthetically, liking what I see from the 5er. The F10 was already a good looking design that has aged quite well so glad to see that G30 doesn't stray too far from it. Hopefully the chassis/driving is as good as the design.

I miss the Bangle years where the 3, 5, and 7 were still clearly BMW's, but did not just look like smaller/bigger versions of each other......

Time for you to go buy a Camaro. They're basically handing them out now!

http://jalopnik.com/brand-new-chevrolet-camaros-are-absurdly-cheap-right-no-1787662886

I know and what probably caused I believe it was a 900 sales improvement over August and outselling the Mustang. While I think the Camaro is worth the extra money, it's clear the Camaro is overpriced and the market rejected it until these deals started coming out. While the Camaro is a better performing car than the Mustang, the Mustang still offers great performance for most people at a very good price.

What's interesting is the collapse in Mustang sales last month. I know a lot of the Mustang fans are pointing to the 2018 refresh, but it's probably more of the auto market declining and pony cars are simply not in high demand in down times.

Has the BMW 5-series always used blue display? They just keep making this cars smaller and smaller. Even the 7-series is smaller, too.

This was this past weekend's project

Fantastic! You are a god among us mere mortals.

Blah-de-blah-blah, you buying one or not? :D

I'm in Bizzarro world? Talk about words I never thought I'd see...

I re-read it a few times, trying to see if there was some kind of really subtle sarcasm, but there wasn't .... THIS IS MADNESS!!

Still saving up... Like I said, plan is to order it in February/March.

While I am not a fan of all of his designs, I did like the fact each model looked unique vs the current dial a size of the same design like it is now with the 3, 5, and 7.

Are you (i.e., are your plans) buying it outright?

No, plan is to put down a decent down payment, but of course leave enough money in my wallet for the rainy day fund. My bank account is almost to the point where I will be comfortable putting down the down payment and have enough left over.

And I want to wait after I do my taxes because I am expecting I will be owing the IRS money due to a bonus not being taxed at the time I was paid it.

I had a couple theories about this.

1. The usual model year change-over decline
2. Fall in sporty coupe sales as the weather starts to change
3. Most of the people who want a new Mustang/Camaro/whatever tend to buy them when they first come out, and then sales start to steadily decline. Maybe we are seeing this with the new Mustang?

By the way, this is totally unrelated, but I passed a Rolls Royce Silver Seraph on my way to work today.

I'd forgotten how much I like the design-it's tasteful and very classically RR. This particular one was two-tone with a maroon lower section and silver roof/deck lid. Again, that's not something that any car could pull off but it works very well on the classically English lines of the last real Rolls Royce.

I know the BMW RRs are probably in virtually every quantifiable way better, but I've never warmed up to the "bathtub" Phantom. I'll also add that I sort of resent them using the Phantom name for their volume model(of course in relative terms) since that has classically been reserved for the ultra exclusive coach built vehicles. For reference, the last "Real" Phantom was in production for about 15 years and I think there were 300 and some of them made.

In any case, any RR is an uncommon enough sight on the road that it always gets my attention, and seeing a "real" one just makes me smile.

Insane price on some fresh rear rubber (in factory size), picked them up while the deal was available, I suspect when these go, I'll swap over to 20", in a 275/315 combo :)

Yeah, the Arnage is one of my favorite Bentleys. I'm not sure what the differences between the two models are though...

I haven't warmed up to the entire lineup. I'm not a fan of the Ghost or Phantom at all.

I always thought RR had the coolest model names. Dawn, Wraith, Phantom, Ghost...

Between the two, I like Bentley a lot more

I agree on Bentley, but then that's probably because they're more of a real RR than BMW-RR is these days :) .

G30 5er officially revealed...

...And I absolutely love the evolution from the F10 than I did with the 7er from F01 to G11.

It's going to take awhile for me to go over all the photos and press release(s)!

Here's where I saw all the pictures

Random thoughts I had about the car
-M Sport rear bumper is iffy.
-I prefer the looks of the non-MSport models
-Interior looks high-quality and luxurious, but I don't like the design. The giant shifter and trapezoidal center stalk designs are ugly.

Can't wait to see them in person soon

Random thoughts I had about the car
-M Sport rear bumper is iffy. (I don't hate it, but I don't love it. Seems like BMW is taking what they do on the X models and using them on the cars and it doesn't really work)
-I prefer the looks of the non-MSport models (I can't say if I like one over the other until I see in person but it's been a while since you could say the non-M Sport models looked better than the M-Sport; definitely the case with the G11 7er).
-Interior looks high-quality and luxurious, but I don't like the design. The giant shifter and trapezoidal center stalk designs are ugly. (At this point, I'm always expecting BMW to just tweak the design until they redesign the interior but I will take BMW's driver-oriented cockpit over the competition any day of the week).

All signs point to the G30 being better dynamically so here's hoping the reviews show this.

I was always against xDrive, not because I think BMW's AWD system isn't any good, I grew up driving RWD BMW's but the G30 would seriously make me reconsider buying a xDrive BMW.

I love it, but sure spec'd up with all the tech and luxury options it will be north of $85k, that is an awful lot for a 5 series!

Is it really more expensive than the equivalent E or A6? Probably not. This is just what luxury cars cost these days.

We live in a time where spending $50-60k really gets you nothing. $70k is the new $50k.

Oh, I know, just a really hard pill to swallow! Even with European Delivery it is tough, although spending that much I would do ED to get the discounts that would pretty much cover the cost of going to Munich!

Honda just unveiled the new 2017 Honda CRV

The back is a little iffy, but it easily might become the best car in its class once again. I don't see a reason to buy the RDX over this, unless you really need a V6

Neuspeed calls it 'Hyper Black'. A black base coat followed with a silver coat then a clear coat. Here's a closer look:

b03e678c30d8d3cfbaa4720e894e9209.jpg

I love those types of finishes where there is a black base coat and then add another layer on top but they're a bitch to touch up/fix if you curbed them. I have 219M wheels in ferric grey on the E90, father took it for a drive and curbed a wheel. I got it repaired but it's not 100% OEM color matched.
