No difference in Alaska, except that long distance driving is the norm. Also, roads where you may not see anybody sometimes for hours at a time, just moose, caribou, and other animals. I have lived in Sacramento (left on a military move back in 1983 or so). Also lived in NYC, Hartford, and a few places overseas, including, Korea, Germany, and Spain. CA is a wide-open State where you may have very tall buildings in the inner cities, but also lots of neighborhoods with houses, apartment buildings, and so on, not far from the city center. The problem with having trucks in NYC is that if you don't have a garage, or a private/fenced/guarded parking lot to park your truck, you have to park on the streets. Do you know what happens to any truck parked in the street if you don't have a lockable topper over the bed? The bed becomes a dumpster-full of beer and soda cans, fast food wrappers, and so on...unless you live in some of the Italian neighborhoods. Some of these can be nice and quiet, even at night. I wonder why?you really got to get out of Alaska more
Come to CA, I don't need to make assumptions when almost every household has more than 2 cars and people drive their full-size trucks on 50 mile 1-way commutes 5 days/week, single person ...
