yes, there is no problem with macOS scaling 2x to either 6K resolution but there is a bug in macOS where DSC is not working with 6144 x 3456 resolution and DP1.4 connection. That means when you use DP1.4 port you can't get HDR but also (and this could be even more important for someone) you can't get full 6144 x 3456 resolution in RGB 4:4:4 mode. Only 4:2:2 chroma subsampling is available. Which is ok for movies/games but is not very good for some text and small color details.

@PaulD-UK -- the service manual for the LG 6K is downloadable (use Chrome -- the PDF download doesn't work in Safari), it shows the panel is LM315STA-SSB1 ...
Safari is working, you only have to rename the downloaded document to *.pdf

Like in the US, no taxes are included in advertised retail pricing, partially because the taxes vary from province to province (5% - 15%).
As previously discussed, at that price for the LG, the Asus and Acer are becoming more attractive.
Best Buy USA has it listed for $1299, sold by Best Buy (not some third party). It's been listed there at that price for over a week now. No stock yet though.
