S5's are going for $300 under release price. 30% drop already. They hold their value.

TBH, I buy my phone to surf, call and text but definitely not as an investment. Most people get a phone and keep it for the life of their contract, tis only fools like us that move them on quickly. So respectfully, I think your point that you have expressed on more than one occasion (for the vast majority of users) is moot.

This forum is not a free-for-all to bash Apple or Android or anything else. It's a place to share opinions and experiences about devices and systems made by companies other than Apple, and/or to compare them with devices and systems made by Apple.

exactly, and you strut in here acting like android is not suitable for business use like it is a fact. you even said 'facts are facts'

I'm streaming the US Open golf tournament right now. The picture quality is outstanding and there is no letterbox! :)

I usually use a larger tablet for streaming some events but I am impressed how immersion the experience is with the S5.

An S5 for just 300$??? Where??

On eBay I'm seeing the S4 at 300€ right now, a year later...
$300 drop means, you can buy S5 for $300 instead of S4 at 300€ :D . If it is real, I would like to get one for spouse and get rid off her M7. It is not fair to compare M7 with S5. You will be surprised how nice my S5 looks next to spouse M7 even though S5 is plastic. I will post a pic later.

I saw a thread about cheap knockoffs for throwaway price. Considering amount of issues he is going through, he might have a lemon. I am actually not sure if Rob issues are related to S5 or Android.

Can you point me to where you see this. . This is a good deal.

Plenty on ebay going for $600, release day was $899 here. Its how Samsung work over priced to begin with to get the fanboys in, then they drop prices quickly over the first few months, which means used prices drop heaps too.
New price now can be had for $700 what does that do to used price.
Another 2 months they will be worth $500 as new price will be $600.

The facts i was talking about was my experience, same as android is not suitable for my business. You need to read properly or you are just so one eyed it wouldn't matter.:p

Release day was $749 so $600 today is about right.

That's AT&T's concern. They get their depreciated phone back in just under 10 months and I get another upgrade.

Next upgrade program suits me just fine.

Not in Australia $899:)

I am not sure how you compare. Are your 899 official samsung price? And you compare to ebay lowest price now?

I compare samsung store initial release price and price now there is only a different of usd60 in my country.

Well let's put it this way. You can get always get iphone much cheaper on ebay than apple store.

Picked up a new phone last night. Got a Galaxy S5 international SM-G900H Blue for $300 from an ASU college student. He is moving to Australia to do an internship for a law firm. So his parents bought him 2 international S5s. Then his brother bought him one also as a going away/graduation gift(s). Well for some reason the regular international phones won't work in Australis (so he said) so he had to buy a different model. It is SIM and bootloader unlocked! So I can do TB backups and flash CM 11 on this blue baby!

I really just bought it to flip it......I have it listed on swappa for $500 so i can make up for what i lose on other phones. I found out this model SM-G900H is the octa-core version.

He is the kid genius for OS exploits.... He has not released the exploit yet.
Some of the rumors floating around is he is waiting to get paid to NOT release the exploit from Samsung.

I thought samsung welcomes rooting? It is only the carriers that force samsung to lock it.

If someone finds an exploit it is a win win for Samsung.

Samsung has Knox....which is built-in security if it is tripped voids warranty. not sure but pretty sure any exploits will void warranty.
