Well, after seeing the leaked pictures I've decided no SGS5 for me.

I don't see any special improvements over my SGS3. Don't like the design (hate the look of the back), don't like AMOLED, don't like the hardware home button still, Touchwiz is mostly the same with new icons only, etc.

I'm going with the Z2. It now has an IPS display so that'shuge improvement for me.

huh? no speical improvements over the S3? WHAT?

why would you make up your mind over something that isn't out yet?

And have you read each and every one to confirm whether the merit of the case was the same? Not every lawsuit is a carbon copy of the one where apple won the award. There are other lawsuits in the US where the claim is different and has less merit...Samsung has not lost once but lost on the appeal as well..To question the entire legal system based on the fact that trials besides this have not gone in the same direction as this is childish..

----------

Calm down, the official launch is little over 2 hours away..:)

I'm not questioning the US legal system. I don't know where you got that impression from. I'm implying that as Apple are an American company and Samsung are not, maybe the verdict was somewhat biased in favour of Apple. However this situation could happen in any country.

First impressions of the leaked photos don't have me impressed and a little disappointed if real. It's almost like two "S" updates in a row from Samsung.

Now to wait for the official announcement to see if there's more to this. Premium materials, higher end model, useful features, etc..

But your implication has absolutely no legs to stand on..and is just a wide speculation that is thrown about! BTW Apple has won lesser battles in Samsung's home turf as well.

Good way to put it. And that dimpled back plate, bringing to mind the first Nexus 7...it's like going backwards. Similar sense to what I get from seeing the supposed new HTC One.

Well, let's see what they actually throw at us tonight I guess. What would be actually a really, really awesome marketing stunt would be if they had intentionally leaked a false "lukewarm" S5....... Oh well, one can dream :D

Well perhaps it doesn't. We all have opinions but most of the time they don't matter. I think Apple won because of bias but that doesn't change the outcome of the trial. In my opinion Samsung did not copy Apple. The way some people including Apple try to portray it is that Samsung phones are a carbon copy of the iPhone. Apple even went as far as to imply that people buying Samsung devices were confusing them for Apple one.

There is more to Samsung's success than Advertising and allegedly copying Apple.

Maybe there is a prime version.

Or maybe it's just wishful thinking :)

I couldn't be less interested in a Galaxy S V, honestly; I've been burnt by the Galaxy S and S II already.

The atrocious looking leaks don't help.

The Z2 seems significantly better.

I meant special improvements in the areas I mentioned: a more radical change to Touchwiz, much better build quality, still using a hardware home button, etc.

Of course it's gonna be a huge improvement in other areas such as CPU, RAM, battery and camera.

I was talking about the areas I wanted more special improvements upon.

Even if this is the cheap version I'm disappointed.

I hope there's a Prime version.

All reports suggest 2 models but we will see...I personally want to see a metal verision too as that means there will be a metal note 4

Yeah, I think there's gonna be a second model.

Yesterday other pictures of the SGS5 got leaked (the ones with the new Gear 2), which had a better looking back cover. I think that's the other version.

Dear God, that back panel. What were they thinking? You can even see little warps in the cheap plastic from where it snaps into the phone.

So it's 2014 and Samsung's still using cheap cardboard-feeling plastic.

You can watch the live Galaxy S5 announcement here, right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wOnaoq1AYE

One thing I'm learning from this is that YouTube's live streaming is much more stable and better quality than the crappy streaming Apple uses for their events!

----------

Having an orchestra play at your event is pretty classy, Samsung. Clearly, the S5 is going to be a classy piece of kit!

There's a lot of people there! Looks much bigger than an Apple keynote in the Moscone centre.

Engadget:

"the GS5 comes with a 16-megapixel sensor that features UHD recording capability and real-time HDR (both photos and video) "

Cool! It has 4K!
