just received HOCO Leather band 2016 saddle brown replica, this thing is perfect, identical to the real thing

the leather fills premium and the quality is great, not feels cheap like the rest of the replicas leather band i ordered by now

and the price? 20$ !

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/HOCO..._2&btsid=e303ff48-d8ef-43aa-997e-55dc82680a5b

Looks pretty great! Would have bought one long ago, if they would just make the Space Black SS adaptors and lug as well... A LOT of 3rd party band producers forget how many Space Black we are (and a LOT of Space Grey sport as well)... Come on man... And even Apple forgets us - the OEM Classic Buckle doesn't come in black

Being a new Apple Watch owner, I'm a little puzzled?!

I bought some of these adaptors for my 42mm Space Grey watch:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B011RQIIDQ?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

....thinking that some of my standard 22mm watch bands with the quick release pins, that I accumulated whilst owning a Pebble Time Steel (before my Apple Watch), would simply fit on. WRONG!!!! The adaptors are literally 1 or 2mm too wide (between the holes where the pins would attach) so my standard 22mm watch bands are slightly too short to fit across the adaptors?!

Is this because I have the 42mm Apple Watch? Would my standard 22mm watch bands have fitted an adaptor for the 38mm Apple Watch?

Yes, The 38 adapters take 22mm bands, the 42 takes 24mm. I have used a 38 Apple band on my 42, it works fine and only leaves a tiny gap on each side. I will check if 38 adapters work as well, they should.

Just checked. The 38 adapter works as well, it leaves about a 1mm gap on each side. When I was wearing the 38 band on my 42 I couldn't really see it while the watch was on. Your tolerance for the gap might be less!

Ahh right - appreciate you checking this. Gonna order some 38mm adaptors instead, I'm sure they will look fine.

I think some adapters for the 42mm AW have a lug width for 22mm straps. There isn't a standard size yet.

Yeah 24mm bands is the way to go. I have two watches with nice leather bands that I use and they are 24mm - bought a 22 MM. canvas band for one if my automatic watches and it looks too small

Wrong. They take 20mm in that style, 22mm for the classic buckle style.

For the 42mm they are almost all 24mm in both types.

This is with the exception of "click" who made 22mm springbar style adaptors for both 38mm and 42mm watches.

I'm even more confused now?!?

So if I want to use my existing 22mm watch bands - what size adaptors do I need? The ones for the 42mm Apple Watch (these are too wide for my 22mm watch straps) or the ones for the 38mm Apple Watch?!

And who is "click"? Is that a website?!

Sorry, I forgot your existing bands are the springbar type, It does look like 20mm is the max on the 38 adapters I have purchased. The other style will take a wider band. I purchased from this merchant and have been happy with the adapters so far. They don't slide in as nicely as the apple adapters but for the money I can't complain.

Yeah Click adapters uses 22mm straps with 42mm adapters.

...unfortunately, these are unavailable on their website and judging by the many comments on their Kickstarter campaign page, there are many unhappy backers who still have not received rewards despite the fact that shipping was supposed to be in April 2015.

..dayam - thats a shame!! Sounds like the 42mm adaptors are too wide for standard 22mm watch bands and the 38mm are too short?! Trust Apple to make non-standard sizes!?!

...yea, I do realize that however, I was hoping that either the 38mm or 42mm adapters would fit my existing standard 22mm 'quick release' watch straps, which I already have, however, it seems that neither of these adapters will fit!

:(

38mm classic buckle style ones will.

except they won't look good with your watch.

and they won't be "quick release" anymore.

Looks like the ONLY way I can get my existing 22mm watch straps to work with my 42mm Apple watch, is to buy some of this style:

...and then strip out the quick release pins from existing straps and just thread the above adaptor onto them.
I have purchased several leather bands for my watch, just bands, without adapters. I also bought each of the 2 styles of adapters to see what I liked best. I thought I would like the springbar type much better, but honestly once the watch is on my wrist I don't see what adapter I am using. I just see the watch and the band. So if you can make the screw together type work I say go for it. Just make sure you use some Loctite on those small screws, lots of reports of them working loose.

Well a lot of the adaptors are 3rd party, but the ones I bought looks awesome with 24mm leather straps

Here is my 24mm silicone ebay strap (for work) with both style bars. The top is the "spring bar" type, and the bottom is the "Apple" type. To me, they both work equally well, but the spring bar type looks better on this strap.
