I just received one of these for my 42mm Space Grey Apple Watch Sport:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017VUS8VY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00

Unfortunately, after removing the maximum amount of links possible (3 either side of the clasp), the band is STILL too long for my wrist, so that's £40 wasted on this. :(

Not sure the size of my wrist but when I wear the Apple Sport black band (the S/M one), the pin sits in the 4th hole from the edge of the watch, when around my wrist.

Can anyone recommend a steel band which is likely to fit my wrist?

Dang, that's a shame. I don't have large wrists by any means, and the MoKo is a great fit on me with the option to even remove three additional links.

You might be able to return it to Amazon actually - check if that's possible

A 38mm one.

As unhelpful as that is, these third party bands are mostly from the same factory and rebranded. They'll all be the same.

That said; the picture shows 5 holes, why can't you remove a fourth link either side?

The Apple link bracelet will fit you. You could try a 4th gen knockoff with the same link removal mechanism but they aren't as cheap.

...sorry, yea, you were correct, I did manage to remove an extra link either side of the clasp to get the band to fit - I obviously initially missed this, in my excitement to get the band on the watch!! :p

However, after trying on the strap with the watch, after just 10 minutes, I realized that I didn't actually like it! :(

The strap is far too thin, doesn't weigh much (so feels very light and not very substantial) and just doesn't really look all that nice once on. I think it actually cheapens the appearance of the watch - in my opinion of course! It certainly does not look as nice as it does in the pics on Amazon (there's nothing wrong with the strap itself).

Perhaps I'm too used to big chunky steel bracelets coming from being a Pebble Time Steel user (which had a nice chunky steel band, which was more than double the thickness of the Apple Steel bracelet).

I've now just gone back to my default black Apple Sport band - which I think STILL looks nicer than the steel band.

Finally ordered all the bands that I wanted for a grand total of $362.92, and a total of 8 bands!
Looks like a bunch of really nice purchases!! Keep us posted on fit and finish when you get them. If they have black adapters I might jump on a couple.

Wow you went to town

I'm waiting for tomorrow's media event, then I'll make my decision on my next watch band. I'm not sure why, but I really like the feel of Apple's sport band over MoKo's sport band. While I'm not jazzed up about spending 50 dollars vs. 15 dollars, there is a difference and I think if Apple offers some colors more to my liking I'll take the plunge.

I agree. I like my Moko sports bands but they all pick up lint and look kinda cloudy. Especially the dark blue one.

I think I'm going to replace the sport bands with the genuine articles. They're cheap enough. At least, I'll definitely be buying the real white one.

Hi there - anyone have thoughts on the best 1:1 or clone classic buckle saddle brown straps or Hermes single tour ones?

Thanks!

You're right. I think the one she's wearing is this:

My wrist is 6.5". After emails w/them, they suggested I order 5.5-6.0" length. If you're considering ordering one, this info might be helpful. :)
I just ordered this one.

Thanks for the info - I will have to measure I know I have a tiny wrist - 127 MM. I will definitely email them for sure. Thanks for finding the link - I've been stuck working late each night this week with no time to look around on the web.

Cheers,
Bobbie
