I'm not sure what you're describing, because good quality leather should not smell bad. Maybe it got damp, which can make the smell more pronounced. Do you know what kind of leather it is ?

Its hard being an early adopter, and, by definition, we are not a patient bunch! ;)
It's probably gonna take a few months and by that time I would have been sick of my Apple Watch and wondering when the Apple Watch 2 is coming out :D:p

Here is my 38mm space gray with black stainless hoco band from eBay. Adapters were included and they are a perfect fit. I had too remove 3 links to make it fit my wrist snug.

Thanks for the screen shots. I'm getting this one! looks great. Comfy?? :)

26mm band on Apple style lugs. As I suspected, it fits just fine. Band moves freely up and down, and is obviously more secure side to side than a 24mm. Not better or worse, just different, and gives you some more options and a different look.

Nice. Have you tried the bandrbands adapters?

No, I figured because it seems like all of the adapters on the market are pretty much the same, and all flowing from China, I'd save $15 and go with the Utica guy for now. Maybe once there's an official "made for Apple Watch" adapter on the market I might drop $30. I'm actually moderately impressed with the adapter so far!

These guys told me that they're adding sale of the lugs as well as another 18 colours for Apple Watch straps/bands very soon.

(Also adding the red/black/khaki zulu with PVD coated buckles in august) :) - will rock my space black!

@bushido - spray it with "febreeze", then wipe off any stickiness with a damp cloth after?

Edit: Looks like clockwork synergy even has a sale going on right now - bands are down to $26 with free shipping in the US! :)

Ok, so I'm a little obsessed with having options. :) I just got 5 new bands from the clockwork synergy site. I'm really happy with them! The leather bands are very soft and have that true leather smell. It's a pleasure to put them on! I really like the nylon ones too, they will be my sport bands, very durable. These bands all came with the adapters so there was no hassle. They shipped really fast too.

Thanks for the photos Luckyblue. Nice collection of bands. As a woman I'm not into the big buckles or noticeable big stitching but do think it looks good on a guy. That suede band sure looks soft. I am liking the NATO 2-strap nylon bands a lot for myself though. Are they comfortable, soft or on the stiff side? Assume you'll be able to spot clean those with the adapters on. Also any chance you could show a photo of how the extra metal holddown "straps" look on your wrist? Do you think they will hit into a lot of things as you go about your day with them on?

BTW can't see all the adapters on your bands but did all of them have their adapters in the correct "3 black buttons facing up" like the watch face position for installing? I noticed they were mostly done wrong from what I can tell on their website photos. Correcting that would mean unscrewing those pentalobe screws (which hopefully they used treadlocker on per Apple) and reversing the bands on them. Not something I'd want to do (screws with locker on them shouldn't be reused according to Apple and no idea where to buy more).

I wonder if Apple had any idea how many people would be buying bands and switching them out on a daily basis more or less. I love the idea of having one watch and just easily swapping out the bands like this.

Good job testing. I have to say, for me personally, I'm not sure I like the look. 24mm seems to be the sweet spot for me. Anything less seems to show to much lug, but going up to 26mm makes the band almost the entire watch. Maybe a different color or something.

I agree, good to have options and glad you posted.

Got them from a german Apple Reseller.
They were just described as "Apple Watch 42mm Universal Band Adapter - Black"

http://www.arktis.de/arktispro-watc...mm-universal-armband-adapter-schwarz/?c=30732

Hmm. This item there is confusing:

http://www.arktis.de/arktispro-watchapter-apple-watch-42-mm-universal-armband-adapter/

Based on the pictures it looks like it might be a spring bar as well as tubular style but since I don't read German can't read the description.

It looks like it fits kind of tightly and rubs against the tubes. I see you say it moves freely however. How is it more secure side to side than the 24mm if both are installed on the tubular adapters? I haven't looked for 26mm bands so not sure if there's something that I like that's not available in the 24mm. I kind of like seeing more silver on the tubes though. But interesting info all the same.
