Hm, I ordered the $1299 kit (i5, 512GB, 8GB) in silver on 3/27. It was predicted to arrive between 4/6 and 4/13 but it hasn’t left processing, nor hit my credit card. I am starting to think I should cancel and start checking local electronics stores.

That's what I did, I had an apple order not moving and just cancelled and went with Best Buy, 14 bucks for next day shipping and it's coming tomorrow.
Just got mine today. Ordered on 3/19.
So far so good! Coming from a 2010 MBP so the display looks amazing! Keyboard will take a little getting used to. So much less travel than the 2010 keyboards. I can't even imagine what the butterfly keyboards must be like 😦

I didn’t mind the butterfly keyboard. I also had a 2010 MacBook Pro that had a logic board failure last year. That was a sad day. That laptop treated me well.

I considered doing this, but they're showing the model I want for delivery on the 14th. My current Apple order (still in processing) says delivery between 4/6 and 4/13, though I'm pretty skeptical being that my card hasn't even been charged yet. Has Apple been missing their delivery predictions are is there a chance this arrives by the 13th? If so, I'll wait, but otherwise I might take my chances with Best Buy.
I've flip-flopped like a fish out of water these last few weeks... waiting for the iPad Magic Keyboard shipping date or for the revised 13" MBP date... have ordered an Air, cancelled it... been working off a 12.9" iPad Pro for the last while...

Bought online an i5/8/512 model from my nearby university bookstore, and picking up today. been using base model MacBook airs since 2012. my current machine is a 2015. i would have been fine with an i3, but my daughter is keen on a few games.

First impressions - the keyboard is fabulous. Missed this typing experience, so satisfying. Will now spend the rest of my day faffing about with it

Trading in my 2016 MacBook Pro 15” Touch Bar for a base 13” Air + i5. $800 trade in value ($10 more if I include power adapter but I’ll save that)
I don’t need all the power, and I use iCloud for storage so 256GB is fine for my needs. Mainly a word processor/Netflix machine. Butterfly keyboard has been terrible, I hate the touchbar, I really don’t need the Pro power.
After tax and Apple Card cash back, this swap will “cost” me $250... and I expect it to be well worth it for the keyboard alone.

Got a 13" SG i5/8/256 delivered yesterday. Love the keyboard true tone touchID and the wedged form factor ... and smaller trackpad. very tempted to keep it because its been really nice. Got it for $999 with edu discount and it feels like such a solid deal for the price.
...still have a pending trade in offer of $470 for my 2016 NTB base in silver, but I'm more tempted to hold onto it as a backup / keep my data mostly on there and win10 partition and just start fresh with this new machine. its 3.5 years of accumulated stuff, and I'll need some ... but I don't want it all
plus will be nice to have in case I have downtime selling my air and getting a newer machine down the road, or repairs, etc.
having only one computer sucks for that reason

I see the option to change the delivery also - did they deliver it by your 4/2 request for the $5? if not, did they come close/refund the charge?
