Is AC+ the only option for Air now @ $249?

No way to get just a regular AC plan for cheap?
Don’t think so in the US.

if you went to college somewhere check your campus store. Some will sell to alumni at EDU pricing. Ordered my MBA from mine and AC+ was $183.

I Ordered the base model in Space Grey for my daughters school needs today. It should arrive this week. She has been using an iPad, but has been finding it isn't ideal for some of her work. More so now that classes are going to be online for the foreseeable future due to Covid19. Google apps (which her school uses extensively) is still pretty painful on an iPad for example, but I couldn't bring myself to buy a Chromebook.

Had a change of mind (surprise, surprise) on my order. Cancelled a 8GB in favour of 16GB RAM. So..SG i5/16/256 ordered today through Apple Education Store. Considering it a long term purchase and with the education discount I’m paying just under £170 over the RRP of the base model for an upgrade to i5 and 16GB RAM.
Delivery estimate is 8 -12 May. 8th is a public holiday in the UK this year, would be nice to sneak in just before that but no real expectations all things considered.

MBA arrived 3 weeks and 2 days after order date - Ireland. It's some piece of kit! Something worth noting and wondering did anyone else experience the same; the first few hours i used the laptop the CPU fan was running almost non-stop, but since i restarted the machine I haven't heard it since!! Very strange! Even when installing multiple applications simultaneously (including MS Office) it hasn't come on. Anyway, it's a pure joy! i5, 8GB.

Ordered on the 7th with a shipping estimate of the 15th - 22nd. United States- NJ. Just got an email that it shipped and is expected to arrive tomorrow. That sounds normal- I’m super close to the main shipping distribution channel for most of the country so I usually get things very quickly. These aren’t normal times but it would be great if I did receive it before the weekend. If I don’t, no big deal as I was never in a rush to get it.

Anyone know if the ship the trade in box/instructions at the same time or if it comes separately?

EDIT: Apple sent a separate email info on the trade in. That answers that!

I dunno, they got mine from Hong Kong to Ireland in a little over a day when it got going.. it seemed to sit in HK over the weekend, however, my shipping notice came on Friday.

I like how while submitting your current Mac for trade in the site asks if you will be trading in your charger with it- and specifically says something like “if you do you get more money for your trade.”

Yeah no. I’ll keep my charger and cable and lose out on the extra $10 trade in value. No thanks! Looking forward to having 1 charger permanently hooked up behind my desk at all times.

I ordered a space grey base model with the core i5 upgrade. I’m really excited! I’m coming from a mid 2011 MacBook Air that was on it’s last legs. It finally died a couple weeks ago so this is right on time.

I had the 2011 Air for many years before I got the 2015 12" MB then 2016 NTB

I see the option to change the delivery also - did they deliver it by your 4/2 request for the $5? if not, did they come close/refund the charge?
They couldn't deliver by 4/2 because they couldn't locate the package so they refunded the $5
then delivered it on 4/3 anyway

The 512 overhead is nice to have ^

and quad core is a no brainer for the price bump if you can swing it

I went Space Grey but don't think you can go wrong with that or the silver. Still love my silver NTB. The gold is alright too, but its for someone whose really after a gold laptop.

What have people found more accurate for expectations? FedEx tracking still have me down for Friday by 10:30am despite it sitting in a room in Shanghai for a few days, but the Apple order page has changed to Tuesday. I'm guessing FedEx have probably told something to them they haven't told me yet, but I'm wondering if Apple are doing their usual 'under promise, over deliver' thing.

For me (in Australia, though) Apple's prediction was the most accurate. Once it officially shipped, Apple told me to expect it April 7, while TNT gave me a date of April 3. It ended up just sitting in Chengdu for a few days, so Apple warned me to expect a delay of two days... but it ended up arriving on April 8 anyway. Been using it for a couple of weeks now and I'm loving it ?

Ordered a 2020 MBA with i5 16Gb ram and 1Tb disk. I watched loads of review videos and decided that the i7 was not going to do much for me. Assuming we see a new MBP next month it will probably be about £400 more to get the same ram and disk.
ps: My wife has the 2019 MBA and really likes the keyboard. She has never had an issue with it.

I'm in the UK and it's looking like 3 weeks until delivery.

I'm looking (touch wood) to have lucked out and FedEx being right. It's currently in TN which isn't far from me at all, so in theory should get to my local FedEx office today, ready to be processed and at my door for their proposed delivery of tomorrow. Here's hoping, it'll be a more boring weekend without it!

In terms of delivery, I ordered on March 31st, Apple had said mine would deliver between the 22nd and 28th of April. It shipped on the 10th and I received it on the 15th (it was in HK over a weekend, but once it got going it got from HK to my door in Dublin (Ireland) in about 30 hours, a full week ahead of Apple's delivery window. It seems once they get going it's pretty quick! So keep your fingers crossed folks, your new MBA will hopefully get to you quicker than expected :)
