Yea, they were! I feel bad about letting them all go and it would be great to still have them. So I settle for getting "new" ones on eBay for retro gaming.

Ultimately, I'm not really sad about the letting-go, but that I didn't really use it to its fullest extent at the time.

If I had been more serious about honing my computer skills, She might have provided different air to my wings.

Still, I'm glad I held time with Her.

Traded in my mid-range M1 Air for a base M4 13" in silver. It feels faster than the M1 and the 16GB keeps things running smoothly. Screen looks great, love the MagSafe charger, and build quality is excellent. When the M2 Air came out, I thought it felt flimsier than the M1, but no issues with the M4. This design makes it easier to open with one finger, and that's something I strangely appreciate as it feels better engineered.

My other half has decided to keep their M1 because it's gold. 🤷‍♂️

Trade in through Apple was quick and easy as always, and I really appreciate how they give you 14 days in case the new one doesn't work out. Regarding shipping, the M4 was sent via UPS 2-Day Express, and the trade-in return kit is through FedEx. Ordered Wednesday, M4 received on a Friday, trade-in kit received on Saturday.

For anyone interested, mine was assembled in Vietnam and it's the base model.

FYI: Costco is blowing out 13 and 15" M3 Airs for $899 (24GB, 512GB) and $999 (24GB, 512GB). Hard to say no to a deal like that.

I just picked up the 13 inch base model for $850 from Best Buy! I'm coming from a 2015 15MBP. My main media creation machine is an M2 Pro Mac mini w/a studio display. My laptop needs are simple - emails, administrative work, browsing, watching YT videos, etc. So the base 13 is MORE than enough. I just got it set up and I'm only using 45GB of SSD space!

The feet on yours grip a lot tighter than mine...

Addendum to my initial psot:

My Air has traveled with me through two weeks: a Teacher's Conference, a six day trek through the Forests and Deserts of California, and and Inn at Del Mar, CA

She has maintained readiness, and willingness to perform.

With the case, She added ~2kg to the shoulder-weight of my side-bag.

It's really nice to take a device with me where I do not even think once about battery levels.

A new MBA owner has arrived. I’m coming from a 2019 Intel 13’ MBP so pretty excited about the change. I decided to take advantage of Amazon’s Prime Day deal instead of Apple’s own students offering. Do I need another pair of headphones? Nah, I’ll take 100$ cashback instead.

Base 15 inch Silver. MBP was overkill for my needs.

In terms of storage capacity, picked up the Samsung T7 shield SSD as I’m planning to switch over to base model iPhones. T7 should work well for additional storage.

Ordered a 15" 256/24 last night.

14" MBP with equivalent config is only $201.50 AUD more expensive. Still went with MBA for larger screen.

Received and set it up.

Initial impressions when compared with 14" M2 MBP:

  • I don't notice the lack of ProMotion at all. I can notice this in wife's iPhone 15 Plus though
  • No complaints with the sound
  • Everything is smooth and fast as expected
  • Glad I went with the 15"
