Is anyone seeing “Your package has been delayed due to events beyond our control. We're adjusting delivery plans as quickly as possible.” When checking through shipment status?

I did today. Ordered my i5/16/512 on 4/18. UPS said it would be here in Virginia on 5/7. Then 5/12, now I have the message. Still in Shanghai. Ordered
Thru Apple.

I would order from Amazon. But that’s just me
If you can get it soon from Amazon, you are probably better off. I ordered mine from Apple on April 18 and still waiting. Supposed to be here May 12, but who knows.

Update - as of this morning my MBA was in Anchorage, AK. No update yet on when UPS will deliver.

It seems to be getting closer to you.. Mine shows "A mechanical failure has caused a delay. We will update the delivery date as soon as possible. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day."

Lets see what happens.

Ordered i5/16/512.

*edit* Order Cancelled - I may opt for the MacBook pro 2.0/16/512 for 300 more. The better thermals may be worth it.

My MBA i5/16/1Tb has arrived in the UK. China, HongKong,Dubai,Germany then England. Expecting delivery via UPS tomorrow.
Obviously Im happy that I didn't wait for the 14" MBP cause it didn't arrive and the 13" MBP is not a show stealer.

Hope to get my current 2015 MBA on eBay on Saturday :)

DELAY bummer, now expected on Monday. Of course it's the UK leg of the journey that's delayed!

After hemming and hawing between the air and the pro I finally decided to just buy the base air at amazon for $949 shipped. I have a similar Mac mini and it’s fine for the Plex server I run on it, a dual core will be fine for the simple tasks and it can more than replace my 2017 MacBook which I can now sell

Should I order my i3 2020 MacBook Air via amazon and get it in 2 days or through apple and wait more than a week ?

Only if *Amazon* is the seller. Careful of third party sellers.

Also - Make sure return/exchange policy matches your expecations.

Entirely depends on your needs/usage/budget, as well as your opinion on touchbar vs function keys.

What do you expect to do with it?

For basic surfing and light office stuff, with some minor lightroom/photomechanic/luminar hobbiest photo usage my i5 2020 MBA is fantastic. Quiet and cool in my lap all evening.

Finally gave in and got i5 16RAM and 512SSD to replace my 2012 MacBook Air with 8RAM and same 512SSD. I’m a iTunes hog unfortunately and interested in the new apps as I didn’t update the OS to last years new version. Also looking forward to 16GB RAM and seeing those improvements for better workflow. Arrival: May 28-June 4.

Had zero intention of replacing my 2015 11" 2.2GHz/8GB/512GB.. until I ordered my wife a 2019 1.6GHz/8GB/256GB MBA. This thing is absolutely amazing, so I went ahead and ordered the 2020 1.1GHz/8GB/256GB Base Model MBA. I do actually like the butterfly keyboard, but have a feeling that I'll love the Magic Keyboard even more, seeing as the keyboard has been the reason I've been avoiding upgrading my Mac for the past number of years. Cannot wait to see this thing!!

i5/16/256 ordered May 10 has been stalled in ZhengZhou since May 13. UPS giving no estimated arrival date, prompting "Your package is in transit. We're updating plans to schedule your delivery."

Apple says it will now arrive by May 26.

Apple says “kommt demnächst an”/coming soon to Germany. Before that it said it would be here on Friday. But UPS tells me it’s still expected for Friday. It has departured from Korea. Does anyone know when to expect it?

Are you in Germany? I'm waiting for a MacBook Pro which has just left Korea on its way to the UK and UPS is telling me it'll arrive on Friday.

Custom MBA is still processing despite being ordered 9 days ago and payment taken yesterday morning.

Yes, I am. UPS tells me the same. I was just wondering if it could get here sooner, because Apple told me it would be here today, before it changed to “kommt demnächst an”.

Doesn’t seem to be the case though ?

For once I took the "new" instead of Apple refurb tack. Too impatient to wait for these machines to hit the refurb shelves. It was past time to upgrade my hardware. Getting tired of workarounds related to having iOS 13 running on my mobile devices but Mojave (and iTunes) running on my aging laptops. Some 32bit stuff still works on those machines, and so they'll be around and also able to serve entertainment while they last...

But meanwhile I can quit going nuts doing workarounds and third party book and music transfers... among other annoyances with my older notebooks, including a bunch of busted keys on the MBP so using a BT kb meanwhile. It all got so old it was almost older than I am, which would be saying something.

So I bit down and ordered an MBA, i5/8/512 which config will be plenty fine for my needs these days.

It's supposed to arrive May 28-Jun 1.

Nice way to launch an summer that looks to be less social than usual. Time to try to make friends w/ Catalina...

Just ordered i5/8/256, I was afraid of thermal issues that has been talked about so I almost ordered i3, but decided not to at last second. I believe the thermal issue is exaggerated. My workflow is very simple so I believe I wont using my i5 MBA running around 90-100 degrees all the time. I upgraded from gaming windows laptop that runs around 75 degress at idle, and fans cracked up all the time, therefore, new MBA will be butter smooth. Additionally, I plan to get into electronic music production so I would highly appreciate if users of the same configuration gives me info about how it runs on Ableton 10 Live and Logic Pro X. Thanks for the community for helping me decide which configuration to buy.

Mine arrived last night. i5/16/512. Setup was easy...however.. after I did everything, I updated to 10.15.5 and holy $&*?# it downloaded it and the Mac went completely dead for 3-4 minutes...felt like forever. I almost thought I got a lemon. Finally turned on and took 20-30 minutes to get back to the OS. All good now but that was odd.
