i probably should .. i did buy a external drive with usb-c and for 90% of the time that's all i need, but i probably should buy one for backup. I did buy 1 ubs-c to usb adapter from apple.

I ordered the Anker USB C one that takes both ports. Will see how it works. The only thing I don't like so far about the MacBook Air is how terrible the webcam is. It's worse than my 2015 pro.

My i5/8/512 just landed! I'm psyched enough to fish out a floor shaking playlist of arena rock, yeah.

So the box is inside the house now but the unboxing definitely has to wait...

Currently refreshing the paint on the trim of a window in a room upstairs and if I think too hard about whether that could get finished some other time, well... it will be EXACTLY like when I repainted trim on the other window in that room and figured I'd do the remaining window "after lunch".
Heh. That was in 2016. Probably when some other piece of Apple gear landed on my back porch.
I ordered my new MBA on May 20, it was promised for 5/28-6/1 so all went great w/ delivery.

Ordered an i5, 256gb Air from Costco on Friday, the 29th--for $1049. Paid $12 extra to have it overnighted to me. Will be here on Monday, the 1st. Love Costco. Great prices. Fabulous return policy. Fast shipping (unlike Apple.)

Just ordered a silver i5/8/256 one, was not given an ETA yet
...and almost 45 days later(!) I received it. But...ordered a silver one and the box says space gray. No problem with that, my real concern is this: I ordered from the German Apple store but with the International keyboard. The Apple, white box containing the MacBook, which I haven’t opened yet says “KB-Z/DEU” Is this correct? Does this mean I got the international keyboard? Please help!!!

Ordered our new MBA from Apple on May 31.
"Ships: 1–2 weeks - Delivers: Jun 17, 2020 - Jun 24, 2020 by Standard Shipping"
Received notice that item was shipped from China today Jun 12 and will be delivered by Jun 23.

Just a question, Why doesn't Apple have any facilities in the US to supply customers?
Couldn't go to an apple store due to the closings.

Wife and I picked up new MBA's today - base model for 100 off. I know arm laptops are on the way but after witnessing Microsofts rough path to Arm86, it will take time but I think Apple will figure it out more quickly. She recently came back to an iPhone and iPad, but hasn't had a Mac in years. Great upgrades in the 2020 model, key travel is vastly improved.

May 21st-29th expected delivery.
i5 // 16GB // 512 GB // Space Gray.
I wanted Space Grey but Best Buy was sold out, I ended up with Silver, and my wife got the Gold.

Just picked up a i3 base config tonight, LOVE the keyboard. But... hopefully this error I got isn't going to be a problem... I was literally setting it up, and then left some downloads going, came back to an error stating "Your computer restarted due to a problem..." So I went into the report.

I am undecided between purchasing a base model vs slight upgrade in RAM.
Is it worth it to upgrade to a 16gb ram? I'm a casual user, just using it for browsing, youtube, excel/powerpoint, video conferening. Also when do you think we will start seeing the 2020 Macbook Air in the refurb store?

We just purchased base i3 models and it seems solid for basically everything mentioned above. That being said ram will obviously future proof and cannot be upgraded so it may be worth it. I was on the fence with that as well.

Tracking the UPS shipment that was to be delivered 6/19 and the only information is that it was received in Anchorage AK. on 6/16. to be delivered by end of day 6/19. DIDN"T GET IT and No further information on the UPS tracking website. Now that it is Saturday can't get ahold of anyone at UPS to find out what is going on.
I don't understand why Apple doesn't have a distribution warehouse in the US for Apple sales to ship from.

If Apple were to build and distribute in the US, it would support our economy and improve the efficiency.

UPS isn't my friend. Tracking number shows delivery 6/22 12:00 - 4:00 pm. at 6:30 pm UPS truck drives by deliveries to 2 houses on my street and then drives by my house without stopping. At 11:00 pm UPS tracking shows delivery delayed due to storms (yes we had storms at 8:00pm but it hadn't rained until then) and new delivery 6/23 12:00 to 4:00 PM.

NOTE to self: Next time buy from local store or Amazon. Apple needs to get its S**t together.

So now its 2 afternoons shot waiting for a delivery so I don't half to worry about "Porch Pirates" and the UPS tracking website / app can't track a delivery any closer than a day.

Good News: at 9:00am UPS shows "Out for delivery at 11:00am to 3:00pm". At 10:30am its now 11:30am to 3:30pm. at 12:00 noon its 12:00 to 4:00pm. Finely shows up at 5:45pm.
PS: its wasn't held up due to sunshine.

Okay. Hello everyone. Long time Mac user here who has just ordered an i5 8gb MBA with delivery from Amazon arriving tomorrow. Spent ages deciding between lower spec MBP (which have been my last 3 laptops) and have read so many forum posts/watched reviews etc etc etc....you know what it’s like. Have been a bit concerned about the supposed heat/noisy fans reports from the MBA but am confident that my usage will not give rise to such factors....web browsing YouTube photos etc.
Very excited, we had a MBA before and in fact it is still in use by my daughter, must be at least 6 years old.
Oh....and of course, had to order a matching Satechi hub thing which, at £59, is about 3 x the cost of other similar dongles 🤓👍😳

Forgot to add, this will replace my 2017 MBP, broke the screen on it by closing it on top of the charging lead....Apple quoting £467 to repair it. Not sure I will even get it repaired

Speaking from both personal experience ordering from Apple and living in Anchorage, I can tell you that anything coming into the US through Anchorage has to go to the main UPS hub in Louisville and then clear customs before it actually is sent to its final destination. The holdup may be with customs clearance, and there is nothing UPS can do to make them move any faster. I have ordered a few iPhones over the years on the Apple website, and every single time the package went China -> Anchorage -> Louisville -> Anchorage.

Ordered my new MBA this morning from Apple. Space Grey 8GB 512SSD and I can’t wait to get it! My last MacBook was a mid 2012 MBP non retina.

My 8GB 512 i5 arrived on Tuesday. I set it up with the last backup from my MBP, which took about 2 hours as an update was also needed.
Lovely keyboard compared to the one on the MBP. No overheating issues doing the usual things I do with a laptop. I have also hooked it up to an external monitor and used it for work via Citrix & again, no heating issues. Very pleased so far.
More good news for me, the house insurance will cover a large chunk of the screen repair for the MBP.

Some retailers must feel they will be stuck with unsold inventory of the base configuration of the 2020 Macbook Air since the WWDC announcement of Apple moving to its own chip. Two major electronic chains here in Finland have just dropped the price from 1229 to 999 Euros (includes our 24% VAT). That kind of sale on a newly released Apple product is unheard of here.

Ordered my refurb MBA i7/16/512 yesterday and it is arriving today! Talk about speed!

Here’s the weird thing- I got my Apple care proof email and it states the model but I noticed something incorrect. It has my computer as i7/16/1Tb. I ordered a 512.

Maybe it’s just a typo or maybe they gave me a free upgrade? When the computer comes, as long as the serial number matches the applecare, that’s it matters. But I am crossing my fingers!

Picked up a base MBA from Best Buy, ordered at 9PM, at my home 2PM the next day. All transfers and updates completed. Good solid, entry level laptop for basic needs. Coming from a 2012 MBP that has been flawless since day 1, which will be passed down to a relative.

What is your take on heat and fan issues with your i3, 8GB, 256 model? Not talking about doing video editing, just basic uploading photos, watching a YouTube video, emailing, etc.
