13" Ultimate available in store!!!

Just canceled my online not shipped yet mba 13. I decided to call my local apple store in NJ and they had the 13 Ultimate in stock. Truly happy. Thank you to all the regular posters here. Your comments helped me decide to make the move form being a long time pc to becoming a mac. Ill be opening the box in a few minutes..........

As encouraging your kind words are, we're not seeing these in the UK today. UPS have screwed up somewhere man. It's 1am here, 2am there, no movement, nothing, how depressing Apple/UPS.

I've used UPS dozens of times, this isn't unusual. Just last week I had a delivery from Italy which left Bologna at 2.30am. Order arrived as scheduled.

Well if that is so, then they will have to fly them into Manchester Airport no? I just can't see UPS being capable of such finely tuned an operation.

Interesting thread from years ago regards MBP's, planes not flying until tonnages reached, customs delays. I am being presumptuous but I could think of nothing pleasing a German official more than delaying shipment of these new apples to UK customers!

It's a totally automated system. UPS deliver 15 million packages every day, UPS aren't bothered whether it's a MBA or a toothbrush that's in their system. All i'm going off is past experience, and I think i've had 1, maybe 2 of at least 50 deliveries been late when I've UPS. I'm not saying it's impossible that they'll arrive late, but I've seen nothing so far that would suggest they won't be arriving on time.

They will be flown into East Midlands Airport. They'll be there for 4 AM leaving a good 15 hours for it to make its way to your doorstep.

The last time I bto'd was an iBook maybe 8 years ago. I've had a good number of macs since then, all from stores/resellers and actually now I'm beginning to remember why. The combination of Apple and UPS is hellish! And that was a long time ago now but the shipping is exactly the same. Testament to this is where else do you see over a thousand posts on such a subject elsewhere for another product.

Maybe it could be put to Steve that some consumers today want fast (eg 2 days) efficient (ie door to door, not 5 doors as well in-between) delivery services on their high value items AND are happy to pay for such service!

Remember China is on the other side of the world from most of us, so I've only seen that status change in the middle of the night US East Cost time. Myne was on prepared for shipment for a full day.
