Ordered the cheaper 13" with RAM upgrade last night with expedited shipping and got this: Delivers: Oct 28 - Nov 3. If only I had known that any upgrade was BTO, I would've ordered on Wednesday :mad:

Well, you've got about 10 hours worth of orders to go before yours. Mine was ordered at 11:56 AM on the 20th and shipped out during the night. It changed out to prepared for shipment yesterday.

I usually hate UPS, but that's because their custom brokerage service sucks and is overpriced. In this case however, we don't have to deal with it since we bought from a Canadian outlet and Apple takes care of importing the thing. So I just love UPS, they are crazy fast and have very good service.

I ordered mine on Thursday night and still says NOT YET SHIPPED... while I can understand the combination of possibilities with a MBP or iMac, what's the deal with it taking 3 days to prepare? There's only about 6 different possibilities on this new model that they're "custom building" ... they should have ramped and had all the common builds done already. all 4 shelf models + 4GB ram upgrade at the minimum... so strange. Guess they figure the chinapeople can make them fast enough, it just sucks having to wait 1-3 days for them to "build" it, then wait 2-3 days for fedex to fly across the pacific and get it to me. At least I live in the Bay Area which is FedEx and UPS's point of entry into the US (they generally come into Oakland)... but who knows... I just wish mine would arrive. It's like Christmas in October for me... Since I'm replacing my "laptop" MBP 13" 2.66\8GB RAM\256 SSD with the new 11" ultra-portable, I'm replacing my "desktop" (24" monitor was hooked to the MBP) with the quad core 27" so I can put my 256GB SSD from the old MBP into it before I sell the MBP :) The 27" will get here first it looks like since it's not being "custom built" but ohhh how the time is going so slow waiting for Mamma and her Baby to arrive :)

Shanghai -> Anchorage > 30 hours?

I'll be curious if any of you guys see arrival in Anchorage for yours. Mine let Shanghai in the early morning PDT time (10 PM local time) Oct 22, and has been in transit for around 33 hours now. This is the same shipment that others have reported theirs to be on. I hope it didn't end up on a boat, as that flight should take less than 10 hours. Haven't heard of any Fedex planes crashing so I'm going to assume the tracking system is broken and it's already on the way from Anchorage to the rest of US.

It goes to Anchorage (or Oakland) then sits pending customs clearance. Many times it won't show a scan until after customs. Once it hits the US fedex system it'll sit until Monday... because they don't move domestic stuff on Sunday\Sunday night... if it's not in your city now, it'll be delivered Tuesday.

Do a forum search, targeting this past spring when the new MBP's were released, and you'll find all sorts of flight tracking information for Fedex flights/routes and how to accurately predict exactly where your MBA is at this very moment.

Don't sweat it if you don't see an "expected" scan at some point. Last spring there were all sorts of customers who had their new MBP's show as stuck in Shanghai when in fact it was already in Alaska or, in some cases, even at the terminal near their homes.

You'll get it on or before the expected delivery time/date. All the other stuff that happens in between is not always accurate.
